WWE SmackDown Results & Winners (August 11, 2023): Jey quits WWE, Rey wins US title, and more
The August 11, 2023 episode of SmackDown was fired up with a great match card and powerful segments. A Hall of Famer won the championship and a Bloodline member walked out of WWE. Here is a complete summary on what happened on this week’s episode of SmackDown and the complete results of the matches.
Match Summary
Charlotte Flair vs Asuka
The match seems to be a rematch of SummerSlam as Asuka was the reason why Charlotte was not the 15 times champ. The match kicks in both twist their hands of each other, Asuka with the initial strike with a kick to the head and rapid leg strikes to Charlotte’s chest. Charlotte some how survived her strikes and climbs the top rope, but Asuka stopped her and pulled her off the top rope to the ground. Now Asuka went for a drop kick and commercial hits.
After Commercial, Charlotte took the control with a Cross body from the top rope and a Spear. When Charlotte measure Asuka for a Figure Four, IYO SKY music hits where IYO, Bayley and Dakota Kai walked in surrounding the ring. Bayley went on to distract Charlotte, but IYO went for a spring board drop kick on both Asuka and Charlotte to end the match in a No Contest.
After the match, Bayley went on to attack Charlotte throwing rapid punches to the face, and IYO sent Asuka shoulder first to the ring post. They arrived, made statement and went.
Result: No Contest Ratings: 2.5/5
AJ Styles vs Karrion Kross
AJ Styles with a drop kick right after the bell rings, and went for the Styles lock. However, Kross escaped and attacked Styles with an elbow to the face and a side throw. Kross took Styles to the top of the rope for a Superplex, however Styles escaped and sent Kross to the ground. Styles went for a kick to the face, but Kross caught him and went for a Dead Valley Drive over the Commentary Desk and Commercial kicks in.
After the commercial, Styles took control with an elbow to the face, Styles went for a Phenomenal Fore Arm but Kross converts it into a Kross-Jacket submission Maneuver. Styles counters it with a pinfall, to save himself from the submission.
Styles took Kross down and went for a Styles Splash from the top rope for a cover. Scarlett took Kross’ leg to the bottom rope to stop the count, Michin took Scarlett away by throwing her over the commentary table. Kross tried to take the distraction as his advantage, but styles countered with a Pele Kick and Styles Clash for the win.
Winner: AJ Styles Ratings: 3/5
Edge Segment
Edge arrived to the SmackDown as a surprise and addressed the Calgary Crowd. With the 25th Anniversary next week, he wish to have a match against the one he never fought, which is Sheamus. He praised Sheamus that he was the reason behind Edge’s comeback as they both trained at the “Celtic Warrior Workout”. Edge calls out Sheamus and he thanked Edge for helping him prepared for the wrestling comeback. They both agreed to a match next week on SmackDown.

LA Knight vs Top Dolla
LA Knight with the initial strike however a distraction from Ashante made Top Dolla took control for a while. Top Dolla took Knight on his shoulder, where Knight jumped to escape and hit Top Dolla with a Bull Dog from the middle rope. He went for a Elbow Drop of his style and a BFT for a win.

United States Championship Match
While Santos Escobar made his way to the ring, Austin Theory attacked his injured leg to make him unfit to compete for the match. However, Escobar sent Rey Mysterio as his replacement to face Austin Theory for the United States Championship. Before the match starts, Mysterio went for a straight attack on Theory, sent him down with a Hurricane-rana to the barricade.
After the commercial, the match started and Rey Mysterio had a clear upper hand. Rey hit a cross body and a senton from the top rope on Theory. He measured Theory for a 619, but Theory countered him and lifts him for a A Town Down, However, Rey escaped from his shoulder and hit a 619 to the back of Austin Theory. He sent Theory to the ropes for a traditional 619, but Theory caught his leg. in control by a 619 to the back and a traditional 619 for the win!
Winner: Rey Mysterio Ratings: 4/5
The Bloodline Segment
Roman Reigns with Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman walked in and demanded an Acknowledgement. Roman asked Heyman, where is Jimmy, but Heyman has no idea where he is. Jimmy was on the ringside with the same dress in which he betrayed Jey at SummerSlam. Roman asked Jimmy what he wants for helping him at SummerSlam. Jimmy replied that he didn’t have anything to do with Roman and all he does it for Jey. The Usos theme hits, Jey made his way to the ring and asked Jimmy for an explanation for what he did at SummerSlam.
Jimmy replied that he did it for Jey as he loves him so much. He doesn’t wanna lose Jey, as the power of Tribal Chief could make him a “As****e” like Roman Reigns. Jey stood calm, and Jimmy asked him to punish him if it was wrong. Jey turned his back from Jimmy and didn’t faced him. Jimmy walked out of guilt, and Roman laughed at them.
Roman asked them to join him again as they messed the things up. Jey super kicked Roman, and sent Solo out of the ring. Roman Reigns hit a Superman Punch on Jey and measured him for a Spear. Jey countered it with a Superkick and a Spear. He calls out Jimmy, and Jimmy came to hug Jey. But Jey hit Jimmy with a Superkick and said, “I am out of the Bloodline and out of WWE too” and went.

AJ Styles (W) defeated Karrion Kross via Pinfall after Styles Clash.
LA Knight (W) defeated Top Dolla via Pinfall after BFT.
Rey Mysterio (W) defeated Austin Theory and won the United States Championship.
