Which WWE Superstars have cashed-in MITB at SummerSlam?

WWE is known for some of the exciting matches and monumental championship wins. Winning a championship is a dream for many, but winning the championship in one of the greatest shows is a dream come true moment. Many wrestlers have created such moments, but only few remain memorable. What makes it more memorable than cashing in the Money in the Bank to win the championship at the grandest stage. Here are the WWE Superstars who had cashed in the MITB at the biggest event of the summer, the SummerSlam. 

Alberto Del Rio 2011

2011 was a lucky year for Alberto Del Rio as he won the first ever 40 Man Royal Rumble and headlined WrestleMania. Although he was unable to capture the WWE Championship from Edge, he won the Money in the Bank the same year by defeating Alex Riley, Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston, The Miz, R-Truth and Rey Mysterio and earned a WWE Championship contract.

He attempted to cash-in the same night as CM Punk is said to leave WWE with the WWE Championship but CM Punk escaped with the title. At SummerSlam, after CM Punk defeated John Cena to become the Undisputed WWE Champion, Del Rio rushed to the ring with a ref and cashed-in his MITB contract successfully to be the WWE Champion for the first time.

Randy Orton 2013

In 2013, Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan were in a long time feud and both entered WWE Championship Money in the Bank (where there were two separate Money in the Bank matches for WWE Champion and World Heavyweight Championship). Orton won the Money in the Bank contract. Where Daniel Bryan got the WWE Championship title shot from John Cena after a long regret from Vince McMahon as he doesn’t see the championship face in him. But, Triple H supported Bryan and gave him a match at SummerSlam and he was the special referee for the match.

At SummerSlam, Daniel Bryan defeated John Cena to be the WWE Champion, his celebration was interfered by Orton who came out with the briefcase. Orton initially retreated, but Triple H turned on Bryan and hit him with a Pedigree to make way for Orton to cash-in. Orton cashed-in with the help of Triple H to become the WWE Champion.
