Update on Roman Reigns’ injury following SummerSlam 2023
The Tribal Chief is reported to be injured during the Tribal Combat at SummerSlam. Backstage reports confirmed major creative updates on the Storyline.
Roman Reigns had an extreme combat against his cousin Jey Uso at SummerSlam 2023 last Saturday in Detroit. He successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and “The Tribal Chief” status. after twists and turns.
On Tuesday, Wrestling Observer reported that Roman Reigns got injured during the initial part of the match but somehow managed to complete the whole match by suffering pain. Since there is no official information on Roman’s medical conditions, backstage reports confirm that there will be no changes in the creatives and will not affect any schedule either.
At this stage, Fightful Select confirmed the reports of Wrestling Observer and came back with confirmed reports of their own. In which they confirmed Roman Reigns’ injury by stating that there is no advertisement featuring Roman in the upcoming events. However his SmackDown appearance has not changed yet, but there is a possibility that it could.
Fightful Select stated, “Tuesday morning, Wrestling Observer reported that Roman Reigns got hurt early in the match with Jey Uso at WWE SummerSlam. Fightful Select has since confirmed that news…After SummerSlam, word came out that Reigns was not advertised for any WWE TV episodes over the next few months. However, we did confirm that Reigns was planned for this Friday’s Smackdown, and as of now, there aren’t plans for him to miss his internally scheduled appearances. That could always change.”
They added, “There were those who would likely be in the know in a creative capacity for Smackdown who hadn’t even heard about the injury until word emerged Tuesday. We’re told that as of Tuesday afternoon, it hadn’t changed creative.”
