Three possible reasons why Jimmy Uso betrayed Jey Uso at SummerSlam 2023
Jey Uso had a Tribal Combat Match against Roman Reigns at the WWE SummerSlam 2023, where the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and the Tribal Chief status was on the line. The match went wild with lots of twists and turns. Jey Uso had to deal with both his cousin Roman Reigns and his younger brother Solo Sikoa. Although it became a two on one situation, he smashed both and was about to win the match, where Jimmy Uso returned and cost the match for Jey Uso.
When Jey Uso was covering Roman for the pinfall, Jimmy came from the audience area and betrayed his twin brother by pulling his legs off from the ring and hit him with a Superkick and walked away, paving the way for Roman Reigns’ victory. What could be the reason behind his betrayal? As many of them have this confusion, here are three likely reasons Why Jimmy betrayed Jey.
Jimmy doesn’t want Jey Uso to become the Tribal Chief
As you know, Jimmy Uso claimed himself as the Tribal Chief, when he turned on Roman Reigns. Jimmy Uso doesn’t see his younger twin Jey Uso as the Tribal Chief and instead wants himself to be the Tribal Chief.
So far Jey has been obeying the words of Jimmy, if Jey became the Tribal Chief, this might reverse as Jimmy could be in a position to obey the words of his younger twin. Jimmy might have a thought of having Jey as his sidekick always and not the one who leads his family.
Jimmy acknowledges Roman Reigns’ as the Tribal Chief
After turning on Roman Reigns for the first time at Night of Champions, Jimmy Uso tried to fix the problem. He asked to continue The Bloodline as united and with mutual respect. Jimmy might have thought that the only thing he wanted from Roman Reigns is the mutual respect that they deserve and not the Tribal Chief status.
He always sees Roman Reigns as the Tribal Chief and doesn’t want him to lose the status. As Paul Heyman said on the night before SummerSlam at SmackDown, that “Roman Reigns is ready to forgive his cousins”. He would have asked for forgiveness and acknowledged Reigns. This could be a possible reason for Jimmy’s betrayal.
Paul Heyman’s Manipulation
Paul Heyman’s Manipulation could be a reason behind Jimmy’s betrayal of Jey. As Paul Heyman said on the final episode of SmackDown before SummerSlam, that Jey Uso is the only reason for Jimmy’s injury, tension between the brothers and crack in The Bloodline.
Heyman might have talked with Jimmy in the hospital and manipulated him, that Jey is using Jimmy’s credits to move to the top, and all that Jimmy earned was suffering and pain. Jimmy manipulated by the Wiseman’s words could be the most probable reason behind Jimmy’s betrayal. When Jimmy Super kicked Jey, Paul Heyman was behind Jimmy and had an evil look on his face, this strengthens the speculations to be true.
