Triple H appeared during the Netflix HQ media event

Former multi-time WWE champion and current COO of the Stamford-based company Paul ‘Triple H‘ Levesque participated in a special event on Tuesday at Netflix’s headquarters alongside WWE President Nick Khan.

During his appearance, Levesque provided major updates on the upcoming shift, the promotion’s plans for the show moving forward, and the importance of the deal with the streaming giant.

The debut episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix will officially be held on January 6, 2025. The venue for the premier show will be the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.

The debut will be the first time in history that the Red brand will not be telecasted on cable networks. The shift to streaming platforms gives the promotion an unprecedented level of creative freedom.

During his appearance, Levesque revealed that the WWE-Netflix partnership will greatly benefit fans globally, as it will provide access to WWE’s entire programming lineup in most international markets outside the US.

Levesque remarked that the Netflix era will be a game-changer for the promotion, and even declared that WWE’s ongoing era is more significant than the Attitude Era.

“It’s mind-boggling to me, the moment of us hitting Netflix. And I don’t think people truly understand what that means outside of the US when you have that moment where as a WWE fan — and everything has always been either you have to go find it or where is this programming, when is that programming?

Where is the PLE gonna be? Now it’s this one-stop shop, where I think people are talking about it, like, ‘Wow, it’s going to be great when Netflix gets [WWE]’–I don’t think they fully get that like the rest of the world, ‘We’re getting everything,’ on that date, all at once. Like I can watch anything at any given time. It’s a game-changer.” Levesque said.

“You said earlier today, and I don’t want to sound like I’m disagreeing with you, the Attitude Era was the biggest, most robust era of WWE. I don’t think that is accurate anymore. I think it’s right now.

I think the moment that we’re going through right now — I was in the Attitude Era at the peak of it as you were. We didn’t realize what it was in the moment. Having seen that, I see this, and I see it way bigger bigger. I see this as this different moment of time in the business, and it being something different. And you mentioned it being the Triple H Era. I don’t think it’s that. I think at the end of it, it’s going to be called the Netflix Era because that’s where the big change is.” The WWE COO added.

Levesque also disclosed the promotion’s plans to increase celebrity involvement once the Red brand debuts on the streaming giant next month.

Furthermore, WWE President Nick Khan confirmed that the promotion has no plans to change the rating of their program and they will keep the show family as well as advertised friendly.

“We’re not changing the rating of our programming, There’s some online chatter about, oh, it’s gonna be R rated, or for us old folks, like X rated. That’s definitely not happening. So it’s family friendly, multi-generational, advertiser friendly programming. It’s gonna stay that way. I would look for more global flair, especially as the relationship [with Netflix] continues to develop.” Khan stated.

Levesque also reinforced his stance on WWE facing potential issues on Netflix, these questions cropped up when fans faced multiple issues during the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul boxing match on the streaming platform.

“I’ll just say, if it blinks a couple of times and we do 60 million, I’m good with that,” Levesque stated during the media scrum at the event.
