Top five wrestlers with most match wins in WWE SummerSlam history

Wrestling is a sport where wins and losses play a major role on where you stand. A win could make you the face of the company, and even a loss could make you a jobber especially at WWE SummerSlam. Although winning a match is not an easy task, some wrestlers had tasted victory constantly, that too on a grand occasion. Here are the top five wrestlers with most match wins in WWE SummerSlam history:

5. Bret Hart- 7 Wins

Bret “The Hitman” Hart stands fifth in our list with seven wins at SummerSlam. Hart had a total of 11 matches at SummerSlam in which he won 7 and lost 4. His most SummerSlam matches was during the 1990’s, his first match was against Mr. Perfect 1991. His last match as a full timer, before retirement was in 1997 against The Undertaker. He came out of his retirement and had the last SummerSlam match of his career in 2010, where he was a part of Team WWE, who won against Nexus.

4. Randy Orton- 8 Wins

Randy Orton stands fourth in our list with eight wins at SummerSlam. The Viper has competed in 16 matches at SummerSlam, in which he had won 8, lost 7 and 1 ended in a no contest. With a 50% win record he stands behind The Game in most number of wins. Orton had faced some of the GOAT’s of the business at SummerSlam including John Cena, The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Roman Reigns. He even created history by becoming the youngest World Heavyweight Champion by defeating Chris Benoit at 2004 SummerSlam, marking the first World Championship win for the 14-time champ.

3. Triple H- 8 Wins

Triple H stands third in our list with eight wins at SummerSlam. The King of Kings had a total of 13 matches in SummerSlam in which he won 8, lost 5, equalling the Viper’s record but stood ahead of him with a 68% win record. His most memorable matches at the event includes the 1998 SummerSlam against The Rock, 2002 SummerSlam against Shawn Michaels, 2008 SummerSlam against The Great Khali, 1999 SummerSlam against Mankind and Stone Cold Steve Austin. His last match was at 2021 SummerSlam, where Orton and Matt Riddle defeated AJ Styles and Omos for the Raw Tag Team Championship.

2. The Undertaker- 10 Wins

The Undertaker stands second in the list with ten wins at SummerSlam. The Phenom has featured a total of 16 matches in SummerSlam, securing 10 wins, 5 losses and 1 no contest. His first appearance at SummerSlam was in 1991, where he attacked “Macho Man” Randy Savage with an Urn. His first match at the event was in 1992 against Kamala, in which Taker won. He equaled the record for the most number of matches wrestled at SummerSlam with 16 matches with Randy Orton.

1. Edge- 12 Wins

“The Rated R Superstar” Edge has the most number of wins at SummerSlam and stands first in the list with 12 wins. Edge wrestled a total of 14 matches at Summerslam, where he won 12 and lost 2. With a winning percentage of 85% he remained at the top of the list for a decade. His numbers are no way close from being beaten in the near future and could remain on the top for another decade.
