The September 22, 2023 episode of WWE SmackDown is all set to be aired live from Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. This episode carries a lot of expectation as a result of the surprise return of The Rock last week. Although it is unsure whether the people’s champ will arrive this week or not, a number of exciting matches and segments are planned for the show. Here is a preview of this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

Match Cards & Predictions

WWE Women’s Championship match

IYO SKY will defend her WWE Women’s Championship against Asuka in a one-on-match this week. Asuka and IYO were in a feud since both got drafted to SmackDown. Between which Asuka became the WWE Women’s Champion. She lost her title to Bianca Belair at the SummerSlam 2023, however after the match IYO took the championship from her by cashing-in the Money in the Bank contract.

Since then Asuka never had a rematch for her title. Asuka returned two weeks before and cost IYO and Bayley their match against Charlotte and Shotzi. Which pissed off IYO, which made her give a title shot to Asuka.

As per speculations, IYO SKY will retain her championship by disqualification. The match might witness the involvement of Charlotte Flair and Bayley.

Rey Mysterio & Santos Escobar vs Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins

Last week on SmackDown, Bobby Lashley, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins confronted Rey Mysterio and L.W.O. Which was made into a match between The Street Profits and L.W.O’s  Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde. Street Profits won and attacked Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar. Which led to a tag team match this week.

As per speculations, Montez Ford and Andelo Dawkins will win the match and make a statement to the SmackDown locker room.

John Cena & AJ Styles vs Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa

John Cena will be on SmackDown based on his schedule. Last week, Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso tried to take down Cena, but were saved by AJ Styles. This week Cena is expected to form a tag team with AJ Styles and challenge Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa for a match the same night.

As per speculations, John Cena & AJ Styles will win the match and this might create tension between Jimmy & Solo. This feud between Cena & Styles vs The Bloodline is expected to continue until Fastlane or over that.
