The Shield tops PWI Top 500 List for 2023

The Shield was one of the most iconic wrestling stables that consisted of Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. They made their WWE as one in 2012 and were more dominant and successful throughout their run. In 2019 the stable got disbanded following the departure of Dean Ambrose. After nearly four years, the Shield members reunited at the top 3 positions of the PWI Top 500 Pro-Wrestlers list of 2023.

SiriusXM of Busted Open Radio revealed the Top 10 wrestlers of the PWI Top 500 list of 2023.

  2. Roman Reigns (WWE)
  3. Jon Moxley (AEW)
  4. Gunther (WWE)
  5. El Hijo del Vikingo (AAA)
  6. MJF (AEW)
  7. Kazuchika Okada (NJPW)
  8. Orange Cassidy (AEW)
  9. Josh Alexander (Impact)
  10. Cody Rhodes (WWE)

As per the list, the former Shield members occupied the top three positions and headlines the PWI Top 500 list.

1. Seth Rollins

The reigning and inaugural World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins tops the PWI Top 500 list for the third time and ties the record for the most number of rank 1 with John Cena. Seth Rollins has so far ranked no.1 in the PWI Top 500 list in 2015, 2019, and 2023.

2. Roman Reigns

The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns ranks second this year by stepping down a rank as he was ranked no.1 last year. Roman Reigns has earned the spot for his dominant championship reign and monumental storyline.

3. Jon Moxley

The current AEW International Champion Jon Moxley is ranked no.3 in the PWI Top 500 list. Jon Moxley was not in the top 10 last year, but climbed to the third spot this year. Moxley however topped the list in 2020.

Following them is the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion Gunther (WWE), AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo (Lucha Libre AAA World Wide, AEW World Champion MJF (AEW), NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion Kazuchika Okada (NJPW), Orange Cassidy (AEW), Josh Alexander (Impact Wrestling) and The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes (WWE).
