The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Judgment Day has been carried out for months and still hasn’t reached the conclusion. Cody Rhodes was brought into the rivalry by Dominik Mysterio, as he was the one who pulled the trigger by slapping Cody on the road to WWE Money in the Bank. Rhodes faced Dominik at Money in the Bank in the UK, where Cody defeated Dominik Mysterio.

Cody after ending his feud again entered into the rivalry with Judgment Day and fought teaming with Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens week after week. Since everyone moved on, Cody & Jey Uso are those who are still sticking with the Judgment Day feud.

Cody & Jey challenged Damien Priest & Finn Balor for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship and won at Fastlane despite the involvement of other members of The Judgment Day. However, The Judgment Day regained it last week with the assistance of Jimmy Uso. Instead of Cody and Jey challenging Priest & Balor for the Tag Team Championship rematch, Jey fought Priest & Cody challenged Priest for a match at Crown Jewel. So what does Cody Rhodes vs Damien Priest at Crown Jewel mean?

No Tag Team Championship match at Crown Jewel

As Cody challenged one half of the Tag Team Champion for a singles match, the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship will not be defended at Crown Jewel. With the tag title not being defended, The Judgment Day could be the tag team champions for a few more days & free from the new threat.

Jey & Cody stay away from gold

The Cody vs Priest at Crown Jewel could make Cody & Jey stay away from the tag team gold. This could make them settle the feud with Judgment Day and get back to the feud with The Bloodline as he was the one who again messed up with Jey and Cody's championship spotlight.

Back in singles compeition

Cody Rhodes could now be able to wrestle in singles matches without the tag team spotlight and go for the singles gold after ending the rivalry. Since Cody Rhodes ended his feud with Brock Lesnar he is constantly booked with Tag Team matches and there wasn't a singles match after. This could be his first singles match in PPV since SummerSlam 2023.
