Bully Ray blames AEW fans for Cody Rhodes departure to WWE
Cody Rhodes played an important role in the establishment of AEW. He acted as one of the Executive Vice Presidents of the company along with Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks. Cody had a redefining career with the company and produced some of the best matches for the company.
Cody Rhodes voluntarily resigned from the Executive-Vice President as he was too young for the big role and felt like it was hindering his pro-wrestling career, when he was at prime time of his run. Although had a great run, Cody had differences in terms with AEW and left the company, where reports suggest that he is having personal issues.
After leaving AEW, Cody Rhodes made a surprise return to WWE and made a huge crowd reaction. He is currently having a great time with the company and is the top babyface of WWE. Although years passed, many wrestling veterans have been criticizing the issue. Now, WWE Hall of Famer, current Impact Wrestling Star, eighteen time WWE Champion Bully Ray (Bubba Ray Dudley) left his critics on why Cody left AEW.
AEW fans are responsible for Cody Rhodes' AEW departure
During the recent episode of Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray (Bubba Ray Dudley) spoke about why Cody Rhodes left AEW in early 2022. He blamed the AEW fans as the main reason for his departure as he turned him to a number 1 public enemy.
Bully Ray said,
“AEW fans have nobody to blame but themselves for the Cody situation. It’s as if AEW fans welcomed Cody with open arms & then pushed him away. In my eyes — don’t tell me about the Anthony Ogogo situation because Anthony Ogogo has f***ing gone gone gone! Those fans pushed that man out of that company.”
“I’m not saying it’s the number one reason why Cody [left] — there’s probably other reasons, and there is, but those fans started booing that guy out of the building. *Imitates fans* ‘We want Cody to turn heel, and we’re not getting what we want! *Wah*!’ Well, AEW fans know better than Cody does or that we do! *Ugh*.”
“[To Dave LaGreca] No, you know what I’m talking about. You would have never pushed Cody away. The guy was the savior, and then all of a sudden he was public enemy number 1.”
Cody Rhodes is scheduled to have a tag team championship rematch for the Undisputed Tag Team Championship on WWE Raw and for a War Games Match at Survivor Series 2023 against the Judgment Day. Will they become the Undisputed tag Team Champions again and also win the war at Survivor Series? Comment.
