WWE Crown Jewel 2023: All you need to know

The 2023 WWE Crown Jewel is the upcoming fifth annual Crown Jewel professional wrestling pay-per-view. This year the Crown Jewel event will be held live on November 4, 2023 from Mohammed Abdu Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is the second-time that WWE is hosting Crown Jewel at this venue. WWE has currently booked eight matches for the event including five championship matches and three singles matches for the show. With Crown Jewel this weekend, here are the things you need to know about WWE Crown Jewel 2023.

First International event after TKO merger

As most of you know, this is the first time WWE has been hosting an Overseas/ International pay-per-view after TKO Merger. It will be a preview of other international PLE's, which WWE has scheduled and about to schedule in the upcoming months. As per various backstage reports, WWE is planning to make the show bigger than all the previous events being hosted in Saudi Arabia.

Kick-off Matches are back

WWE has paused Kick-off matches for a while, but continued to host group conferences featuring Booker T, Kayla Braxton, and others, who would discuss the match cards and predict a winner. However, WWE brought back the kick-off match at Crown Jewel 2023, where Sami Zayn will be facing JD McDonagh, before the start of the main show.

Five Championship matches

WWE has booked five championship matches for the show, where WWE Women's Championship, Women's World Championship, United States Championship, World Heavyweight Championship and Undisputed WWE Universal Championship are being defended on the line. This is the first time WWE has booked five championship matches on the same day after SummerSlam 2023.

Special telecast time

Since Crown Jewel will be hosted live from Saudi Arabia, the show will be aired in the special time of 10.30 PM IST in India on November 4, 2023, Saturday. However the kick-off is expected to begin one-hour before the main show.

Celebrity appearances

It was previously reported that WWE is planning to bring the five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo for the show. Additionally, a boxing match between the undefeated boxing king Tyson Fury and UFC World Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou a week before Crown Jewel where stars around the world assembled at Saudi Arabia. Since being the sports and entertainment hub a lot of stars from various fields is expected to appear for the show.
