How the War Games match at WWE Survivor Series 2023 could play out
WWE has been hosting War Games since 2017, where it was exclusively a pay-per-view special of the NXT brand until 2021. WWE brought the War Games to the main roster and made Survivor Series War Games match instead of the traditional Multi-starred Elimination Tag Team Matches. The company announced that it will continue with War Games matches for the Survivor Series 2023 in Rosemont, Illinois during the Crown Jewel pay-per-view and has now booked the War Games match on Raw.
During the final moments of the latest episode of Raw, Judgment Day & JD McDonagh attacked Sami Zayn and Seth Rollins, where Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes joined and made it a big brawl ringside. Adam Pearce came with a bunch of securities and WWE officials to hold the brawl and asked them to settle their rivalry in the War Games match. Where Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn and Jey Uso will take on Judgment Day (Damien Priest, Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh). As WWE announced the War, here are some of the ways how the match could play out.
Four-on-Four to Five-on-Five
Last year WWE went for a 5-on-5 War Games Match for both Men’s and Women’s War Games match, however only four members on each side has been announced. It might turn into a 5-on-5 War Games match by next week or will go through a recruitment process as Judgment Day does in the following week.
Cody could call an old friend
If the situation turns out to be a 5-on-5 match, Cody Rhodes might call his old friend for help, which could be either Randy Orton or CM Punk. Randy Orton has been in the Performance Center and has been waiting for the right time to return. Backstage reports suggest that he would return to television within the 2023 end, and there is no better way than the War Games Match. Similarly, CM Punk’s WWE return is a never ending debate and has been in the Survivor Series return rumors. Since the PPV is hosted in his hometown, this could be the perfect platform for him.
Enemy of an enemy is a friend
Judgment Day on the other hand could recruit Drew McIntyre, which is always in the bucket list of Rhea Ripley. She already initiated a move asking to join them to assure a World Championship win. His frustration and Rhea’s backstage talk might result in McIntyre joining the crew.
Baby Faces loses all
Judgment could win the match, if they outplayed the War games match, by separating each and every member of the crew. If they win or make an effective damage on the World Champion and Co, Damien Priest would likely cash-in the same day and become the World Heavyweight Champion for the first time.
Cody & Crew stands tall
Cody Rhodes and their team members could utterly destroy Judgment Day and end their feud. This could take Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso and Sami Zayn away from the Judgment Day rivalry list. However, Seth Rollins will still continue the feud, unless Damien Priest gets rid of the Money in the Bank briefcase.
No Damien Priest in Judgment Day
At Survivor Series War Games, Judgment Day could accidentally attack each other, where Priest and Balor could be involved. At the end, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh could go behind Finn Balor, by leaving Damien Priest suffer alone. Which could end Damien Priest run in Judgment Day and might result in a potential face turn for Priest.
