Top five WWE Superstars John Cena has put over in recent years

John Cena has been cutting promos during his feud with Solo Sikoa stating that he hasn’t had a win for the last 2000+ days. He stated that based on his current performance and statistical numbers, he is thinking about retirement. Cena’s part time role could be one of the causes for his poor statistical numbers, but who are the ones who put Cena over in recent years? Here are the top five WWE Superstars John Cena has put over in recent years
Solo Sikoa
John Cena faced Solo Sikoa at WWE Crown Jewel 2023, which is the single’s pay-per-view debut for Solo Sikoa. This is one of the must win matches for Cena as he himself has spoken about it. Solo Sikoa on the other hand, tried to finish Cena right from the beginning with a Samoan Spike. As both delivered a tough fight, Solo Sikoa landed eleven Samoan spikes on Cena and defeated John Cena.
Austin Theory
Austin Theory had a match against John Cena at WrestleMania 39 by defending his United States Championship on the line. The match was built in a way, where Theory claims himself as the better wrestler than John Cena and Cena tried to prove him wrong. Although Cena delivered a tough fight, Austin Theory used cheap tricks such as bit Cena, hit a low blow and won the match.
Roman Reigns
John Cena faced Roman Reigns at the main event of SummerSlam 2021 for the Universal Championship. John Cena made his return at Money in the Bank 2023 confronting Reigns and challenged for a Universal Championship, where Cena believed that he could dethrone Roman Reigns' dominant reign. The match had a great reception from the WWE Universe and is considered as one of the good matches that Cena has been a part of in the last few years. Both Cena and Reigns had a great fight, however, Reigns defeated Cena after two Superman Punches and a Spear.
Bray Wyatt
John Cena faced Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36 in a cinematic Firefly Funhouse Match, where they teleported to the past and fought in some of the iconic moments such as Cena’s debut, Saturday Night Main Event, nWo Monday Nitro and came back to the ring where The Fiend pinned Cena after Sister Abigail, where Funhouse Bray Wyatt acted as referee.
The Undertaker
John Cena had a match with The Undertaker after a long wait at WrestleMania 34, where Taker’s appearance wasn’t confirmed until the last minute. Cena got the tickets to watch the show with WWE Universe, where a referee rushed to him and told that Undertaker will be here and the match was just made. This is a squash match, where John Cena was scared of the Phenom and soon got defeated by him. This marks the last match of The Undertaker in front of the live crowd.
