CM Punk will appear in next week’s Friday Night SmackDown, WWE confirm

At Survivor Series: WarGames, CM Punk made his surprise return at the final moments of the show. His return generated a huge reaction from the WWE Universe all across the world and from the home crowd at Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
The huge chants never stopped and continued on Raw, where he addressed the WWE Universe in Nashville, Tennessee and had a live microphone session. Punk spoke about how his fans supported him during his time off, backstage reactions and his return. As fans wonder if Punk could show up on SmackDown, he was not featured on SmackDown this week. However, Punk’s SmackDown return date and venue is now officially revealed.
CM Punk’s returns to SmackDown next week
On the latest episode of SmackDown, WWE officially announced that the Second City Siant will be returning to SmackDown next week on December 8 at Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island. Next week’s SmackDown is the Tribute to the Troops special, to honor the U.S. army. This is the first time he will be appearing on SmackDown in nine years and the first time after SmackDown started airing live.
The last time Punk was in SmackDown was way back in the January 7, 2014, taping, where he teamed up with Billy Gunn and Road Dogg and faced The Shield and lost. When CM Punk appeared on SmackDown, it wasn’t even made live.
On the latest episode of SmackDown, Randy Orton made his return and Nick Aldis made use of it and quickly signed Orton to SmackDown. Could we be able to see Nick Aldis sign CM Punk to SmackDown?
Before Punk got released from the company, he had a great rivalry with The Shield, featuring Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. Well Punk faced Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose) at AEW and became the AEW World Champion, now other two members of the Shield are champions in WWE.
Will he be able to dethrone the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins or the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reign in WWE?
