Dominik Mysterio & Rey Mysterio sign new WWE contracts

The Mysterios (Rey & Dominik) has been having a great year in WWE so far. Dom won his NXT North American Championship and held it twice proving his singles championship caliber. Rey Mysterio was inducted into the Hall of Fame earlier this year, formed LWO and held the United States Championship post Hall of Fame. As the Mysterios dominate the main roster chasing their dreams separately, the WWE status of The Mysterios has been revealed.

Rey & Dominik Mysterio’s contract update

PWInsider reported that Dominik Mysterio has signed an extension agreement with the company. Dom’s new contract could make Dom wrestle in the company for the next five years. The multi-year contract came after his successful year in the company, where he wrestled the most number of matches for the company after Cody Rhodes. Dom discussed the terms of the contract a month ago and is pleased to sign it for the longer term.

As Dom signed the contract, Dave Meltzer reported that Dom’s dad Rey Mysterio has also signed the extension contract. Meltzer said that the length of the contract is unknown, but will guarantee the continuation of the Legendary Luchador’s association with the company.

Rey Mysterio had teased retirement on a number of occasions in the past, however was convinced to work for the company to continue his legacy and create more memories before retiring. However his contract renewal has given a hope that we could see Rey back in action anytime soon.

Rey Mysterio is currently on hiatus due to knee surgery after being assaulted by Santos Escobar and however appeared on the commentary desk to support Dragon Lee win the NXT North American Championship against his son Dominik Mysterio. Dominik Mysterio on the other hand lost the NXT North American Championship and was looking for a new feud for a fresh start.
