WWE introduce 'WWE Speed' concept at SmackDown Taping

WWE is known for its creative works and has produced some of the innovative matches over years. The matches were unique and had great success in the wrestling industry. It seems like WWE had brought a new segment under the name WWE Speed on the latest SmackDown tapings with time stipulations.
Here is all you need to know about WWE Speed which happened on Friday night.
WWE Speed introduced
On the December 15 SmackDown taping, WWE conducted two matches under the name WWE Speed during the pre-show featuring stars from WWE & NXT. The matches had a five-minute time limit and the countdown appeared on the big screen.
The first match featured NXT star Nathan Frazer and Raw Superstar Bronson Reed, where Bronson Reed won. In the second match Cedric Alexander faced NXT’s Axiom and Alexander won. It seems like an Iron man match shrunken for a shorter duration.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful select reported that Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick were on the commentary desk. The matches are taped as they would broadcast it, however no information regarding the broadcast has been announced.
It was also noted that NXT talents working pre-show matches previously were booked for Main Event, ahead of Raw. And it is speculated that WWE Speed could be something similar to WWE Main Event, however we cannot come to a conclusion before the official announcement.
WWE had previously held Raw Underground matches during the COVID-19 period, where a number of wrestlers fought at the backstage area without the regular rules, surrounded by fellow fighters. However, it was withdrawn after weeks.
WWE also has something similar to WWE Speed, which is also wrestled within the time limits, but for a number of rounds under the British round rules. Where two wrestlers will be wrestling within the time limits and the number of wins before the rounds end determine the winner.
