AJ Lee drops major hint of potential in-ring return to WWE

The rumours started after the former WWE Superstar posted some pictures on Instagram.
CM Punk made a surprise comeback to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames and wrestled at WWE Holiday Live Tour this week. His return sparked curiosity among wrestling fans about AJ Lee’s possible comeback. Punk also name-dropped AJ on TV and WWE digital videos. Now, AJ Lee hinted at her in-ring return.
AJ Mendez (aka AJ Lee) on Instagram recently posted interesting stories, where she shared a picture of her old pro wrestling boots, which are the high-high top Chuck Taylor shoes with the caption “Hello darkness, my old friend”.

She also posted a video clip of practicing her in-ring skills with CM Punk. Although it is an old video, the timing of her post is rumored to be hinting at her in-ring return. CM Punk also commented on her post “You still got it.”
AJ retired from in-ring action in 2015 after CM Punk’s controversial departure from WWE. She then joined Women of Wrestling as an executive producer, where she also does script writing and commentary. Despite being away from in-ring action for nearly a decade, she maintains excellent form in her movements and physical condition.
Her status is currently trending on social media platforms, with many speculating that it could be a hint at her return to the ring, possibly at Royal Rumble 2024. However, no confirmed reports are indicating whether this is a deliberate tease or just a casual post.
Could we be able to see AJ Lee back on the in-ring action again? We need to wait and watch.
