AEW CEO Tony Khan fires shot at WWE booking Jinder Mahal in World Title match against Seth Rollins
Tony Khan is back with his controversial opinion on X bashing WWE’s bookings of Jinder Mahal
On the recent episode of WWE Raw, Jinder Mahal confronted the World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins and both argued over their championship reign and being viral on the internet. The argument ended physically after Jinder swinged on Seth Rollins from the back and Seth Rollins fought back. As a result of the confrontation, the World Heavyweight Championship match was made between Jinder Mahal and Seth Rollins. This caught the attention of AEW CEO, Tony Khan and he criticized the company on X.
Tony Khan on Jinder Mahal’s World title booking
Tony Khan on X compared Hook’s booking with Jinder Mahal. Hook recently challenged Samoa Joe for his AEW World Championship after his 28 wins and 1 loss record. However, Jinder Mahal who has lost every match in the last year got the World title shot with ease. Khan questioned WWE’s booking and asked where the outrage was.
Tony Khan on X,
“A double standard: @730hook 28-1 career record, on winning streak calls out the Champ, a logical challenge sparks online outrage. Jinder has literally lost every single match he’s in for the past year, immediately gets title shot, where is the rage. #AEWDynamite TOMORROW on TBS“
Khan was asked by USA about Jinder’s Cagematch rating, to which Khan fired back in the thread by pointing Jinder Mahal’s last win in WWE, which was almost a year ago.
Tony Khan to USA,
“A moral victory for USA is one win more than their World Title challenger Jinder Mahal has in the past 364 days… because it’s been literally a full year since he won a match. You really put AEW in our place getting Jinder Mahal in a big match on your tv show. Do it more often.“
Eric Bischoff & Tony Khan
Eric Bischoff reacted to Tony’s tweet with a clown emoji. To which Khan replied with a GIF wording “Get out of my sight, you miserable has-been.
Bischoff asked Khan if it was true or the bot? “Hey @TonyKhan is this true or is it a bot?“
“No @EBischoff, not true at all. Abadon returned to AEW + then they won a 4 way match on TNT against other great wrestlers to earn a title shot, which is completely different than someone going a full year losing every match they’re in + getting a title shot without a single win.“
As the arguments started heating up in the comments, Khan replied,
“The irony. #AEWDynamite”
