Original plans for WWE Elimination Chamber 2024 before CM Punk's injury: Revealed
WWE hosted its 14th Elimination Chamber PLE on February 24, 2024 at Optus Stadium in Perth and made the stadium show a huge success. There were a number of big matches and segments in the show, which set the foundation for WrestleMania 40.
Drew McIntyre & Becky Lynch won the Elimination Chamber, Seth Rollins & Cody Rhodes appeared on the Grayson Waller Effect, Rhea Ripley won big in his country and so on. Although it was a huge event, a backstage report revealed that the company had even bigger plans for the show, however it got changed.
Original Elimination Chamber 2024 plans
According to Fightful Select, WWE had huge plans for Elimination Chamber 2024 in Perth, Australia, however the plans were changed. According to the report, the actual plans for Chamber is,
- CM Punk wins the Men’s Elimination Chamber.
- Cody Rhodes vs Drew McInytre.
- Becky Lynch wins the Women’s Royal Rumble.
- Grayson Waller Effect with The Rock as Special Guest.
- Seth Rollins vs Bronson Reed for the World Heavyweight Championship.
- Brock Lesnar vs Dominik Mysterio.
- Rhea Ripley vs Nia Jax for the Women’s World Championship.
However due to CM Punk & Seth Rollins’ injury, Rock & Brock Lesnar’s unavailability, the plans were changed. Drew took the spot of CM Punk, Cody and Seth Rollins featured in Grayson Waller Effect, Bronson Reed & Dominik Mysterio were taken away from the match card.
WWE fans questioned the company about not featuring Reed at Elimination Chamber in his home country. Reed addressed Reed not being at Chamber stating,
“My people, Yes, my wife is pregnant. No, that is not the reason I’m not on #WWEChamber. Thank you for your concerns. Sometimes, the stars don’t align,”.
It seems like the company has been through a lot of creative changes in the recent booking plans. We need to wait and see what the company is cooking for the rest of the storylines.
