Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 Kick-off challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 40. With this, he will be main eventing WrestleMania two times in a row and both against Roman Reigns.

1. Randy Orton

After the split of Legacy, all the three members of the stable- Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase faced each other in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania 26. Rhodes and DiBiase worked as a unit until Rhodes stopped DiBiase from pinning Orton. As they kick started a brawl between them, Orton punt kicked Cody & delivered a RKO to Ted DiBiase for the win.

2. Big Show

At WrestleMania 28, Cody Rhodes defended his Intercontinental Championship against Big Show. Rhodes tried to escape Big Show’s assault however got dominated by him and eventually lost the title to him after a Knockout punch.

3. Cesaro

At WrestleMania 30, Cody Rhodes participated in the 31 men Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal and got eliminated by Alberto Del Rio. However, Cesaro won the match and took the credit.

4. Daniel Bryan

At WrestleMania 31, Bad News Barrett defended his Intercontinental Championship in a seven-men Ladder match against Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Luke Harper, R-Truth & Star Dust (Cody Rhodes). Daniel Bryan won the match by grabbing the IC title, which was hanging over the head.

5. Zack Ryder

At WrestleMania 32, Kevin Owens defended his Intercontinental Championship in a seven-men ladder match against Zack Ryder, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Sami Zayn, Sin Cara & Star Dust. Zack Ryder won the title by climbing the ladder and unveiling it from the hook.

6. Roman Reigns

At WrestleMania 39, Cody Rhodes challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of Night 2. Roman Reigns defeated Cody with the help of The Bloodline and retained his championship.
