At WrestleMania XL Kick-off, The Rock vs Roman Reigns was initially teased stating that the only dominant & royal family of pro-wrestling is bound by blood and will main event the biggest WrestleMania of all time. Cody then interrupted them and said that was a “bull sh*t” and asked them who gave them rights to make decisions as he is the one who won the 2024 Royal Rumble and has the decision making rights.
Cody then announced his decision to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the main event of WrestleMania XL. Reigns regretted his challenge stating that he is irrelevant as his dad, which pissed him off. Cody then took shots at their family, which made The Rock angry. The Great One said that Roman’s family, blood and ancestors are the same and slapped him on the face, which raised tensions. Now, Rock addressed the situation and opened up for the very first time.
The Rock on slapping Cody Rhodes
The Rock posted the video of him slapping Cody Rhodes on his Instagram reel. The Rock addressed the situation in the caption stating that pro-wrestling is buzzing up after a decade and it excited everyone. He then said that Cody disrespected his family and soon found out the consequences. Rock extended his statement stating that Cody has crossed the line and said that they won’t toe the mark for no one.
The Rock on his Instagram wrote,
“I was born into this crazy world and I love every second of it. It’s been decades since pro wrestling has been buzzing like this for WRESTLEMANIA and this has become rare air that we’re all breathing, and it’s very f**king cool & exciting for us, as wrestlers, our company and most importantly – all our fans. Your hero f**ked around and he found out quick what happens when you talk about our family with disrespect. Lines crossed and blurred – bring it. We don’t toe the mark for no one. Road to Wrestlemania begins…
