Some of these AEW stars will soon be out of contract

The WWE Royal Rumble 2025 event is a source of great expectation and excitement, thanks in large part to the possibility of a few surprises.

The men’s and women’s Royal Rumble contests will receive a lot of attention, whether they include stars returning from injury or new talent joining WWE.

Looking at the present condition of All Elite Wrestling, there are various stars that are either underutilized or in need of a change and might possibly make their Rumble debut.

Ahead of the February 1 event in Indianapolis, here are the top five AEW stars who could potentially show up at WWE Royal Rumble 2025:

5. Wardlow

Wardlow hasn’t been on AEW television since losing the AEW World Championship to Samoa Joe at Dynamite: Big Business. The three-time TNT Champion, who has been sidelined since this match due to an injury, is one of the most often inquired about players on the AEW roster.

Since his AEW debut, Wardlow has been seen as a future WWE star. Making his formal debut in the men’s Royal Rumble would pave the way for several exciting meetings with other hosses like Sheamus, Bron Breakker, and Jacob Fatu.

4. Britt Baker

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., is the newest AEW star who may be on the verge of leaving the firm. Baker, who rose to fame as the company’s first significant female star, hasn’t been on AEW television since November and has been utilized sparingly since her comeback in June 2024.

Baker, more than anybody else on the AEW, may need a fresh start and a new locker room to establish a reputation different from the one she currently has. Making her debut in the women’s Royal Rumble match would cause fans to forget about her previous faults and focus on the numerous dream matchups she has in WWE with Becky Lynch, Naomi, and Charlotte Flair.

3. Rey Fenix

Penta made his long-awaited WWE Raw debut on Netflix on January 13, following weeks of segments teasing his impending entrance. The former AEW World Tag Team Champion has been portrayed as a future megastar because of his irresistible charm and distinct appearance, which sets him apart.

Penta’s arrival has opened up the potential of his brother, current AEW star Rey Fenix, joining him in the promotion. Rey Fenix leaving AEW and making his Royal Rumble debut in 2025 may be a watershed moment for the promotion, introducing a new talent and forming a new partnership with Penta that might rule the tag team division.

2. Ricky Starks

Ricky Starks has been AWOL from AEW television since the March 30, 2024 episode of Collision. After over a year away from the promotion, Starks has become a popular name among fans who want to see him return on AEW TV.

The former AEW World Tag Team Champion have all of the necessary qualities to succeed in WWE from the start. Ricky might become not just WWE’s, but also the wrestling industry’s, hottest star if he makes a surprise entrance in the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble event.

1. Bryan Danielson

In many ways, Bryan Danielson’s decision to postpone retirement and win the AEW World Title at All In London has contributed significantly to the current top storyline in All Elite Wrestling, which revolves around The Death Riders. After being defeated at WrestleDream by his former buddy and Blackpool Combat Club stablemate Jon Moxley, Danielson might call it a day or stop his AEW career.

Now without a contract, Danielson has the potential to make one of the most dramatic WWE comeback in recent memory by competing in the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble. The thunderous pop Danielson might generate would be enough to make this worthwhile, but when you consider potential showdowns with Roman Reigns, CM Punk, or Drew McIntyre, this is a must-see Rumble return for any fan.
