AJ Lee's top five greatest WWE matches

AJ Lee is one of the most popular and greatest women’s professional wrestlers of her era. She had a great run with WWE from 2007 to 2015. AJ is a three-time Divas Champion and was involved in a number of major storylines in the company.

She retired from professional wrestling in 2015 subjecting her injuries and her husband, CM Punk’s controversial departure from the company. AJ is turning 37 and to celebrate that, here we take a look at five of her greatest matches in WWE.

5. Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational

At WrestleMania 30, Vickie Guerrero announced an Invitational Divas Championship match featuring 14 Divas in a single fall. AJ Lee defended the championship on the line against Aksana, Alicia Fox, Brie Bella, Cameron, Emma, Eva Marie, Layla, Naomi, Natalya, Nikki Bella, Rosa Mendes, Summer Rae and Tamina Snuka.

The challengers completely targeted AJ and her bodyguard, Tamina, however she successfully retained her championship title by making Naomi submit to the Black Widow.

4. AJ Lee, Naomi & Paige vs The Bella Twins & Natalya

At Raw after WrestleMania 31, AJ had her last match in WWE, where she teamed up with Naomi & Paige to take on The Bella Twins & Natalya in a six-woman tag team match.

This is the first ever 15-minute-long divas match that featured in the weekly television and AJ’s team won. She received a huge appreciation from her teammates and announced her retirement from in-ring action the next day.

3. AJ Lee & Paige vs The Bella Twins

At WrestleMania 31, AJ Lee teamed up with her former rival, Paige and took down Bella Twins in a Tag Team match. The match was quite balanced, with momentum swinging on both their sides. At the final moments, Paige slammed Brie Bella over the steel stairs allowing AJ to make Nikki Bella submit to the Black Widow for the win.

2. AJ Lee vs Kaitlyn

At  Payback 2013, AJ challenged Kaitlyn for the Divas Championship, where AJ Lee was a heel, who tried cheap tricks during the match. In the final moments, Lee used her belt to knock Kaitlyn down and applied Black Widow to win the WWE Divas Championship for the very first time.

1. AJ Lee vs Paige vs Nikki Bella

At Night of Champions 2014, Paige defended her Divas Championship against AJ Lee and Nikki Bella in a Triple Threat match. AJ Lee slammed Nikki Bella from the apron to the floor and applied Black Widow on Paige to win the Divas Championship for the third time to tie the most Divas title reign of Eva Torres.
