The vacant Women’s World title was contested at the PLE!

As promised, the Stamford-based promotion delivered its first Premium Live Event on ESPN, marking the beginning of a new era. The inaugural Wrestlepalooza aired live on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Multiple big names, including John Cena, Brock Lesnar, AJ Lee, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, Becky Lynch, and Seth Rollins, among others, competed on the show. While the show featured three Champions, only one title was defended at the show, the other being a vacant title.

The Wrestlepalooza PLE kicked off with a singles match between Brock Lesnar and John Cena, which ended in devastating fashion for Cena as Lesnar manhandled him to deliver five vicious F5s to pin the 17-time WWE World Champion and play spoiler on his retirement run.

In the second match of the show, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed defeated The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) in a tag team match where LA Knight was the special guest referee. In the final moments of the match, Jey hit Breakker so hard with the steel chair that it bounced back into his face and busted him open.

Furthermore, Stephanie Vaquer pinned Iyo Sky in a barn-burner showdown to capture the vacant Women’s World title. This was Vaquer’s first title on the main roster; she has held the NXT Women’s and the Women’s North American titles.

On the other hand, AJ Lee forced Becky Lynch to tap out, securing the win in the mixed tag team match alongside her husband, CM Punk, defeating Lynch and her husband, Seth Rollins.

In the main event of the marquee show, Cody Rhodes defeated Drew McIntyre to retain the Undisputed WWE title. This was Rhodes’ first title defense since winning the Undisputed title back from John Cena at SummerSlam 2025.
