The 2025 edition of NXT Battleground will emanate from Florida!
The 2025 edition of NXT Battleground is set for Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The developmental brand has slowly started to build the match card and storylines for the upcoming show, which will follow the NXT Stand & Deliver PLE that emanated during WrestleMania 41 week.
The third annual Battleground will become the first Battleground to air on Netflix internationally. The promotion is building an exciting card for the event, with all currently announced matches being title clashes between top stars.
After emerging victorious in the 25-man battle royal on the May 06 episode, Myles Borne captured the number one contender’s spot for the NXT Championship and is now set to battle the current Champion Oba Femi.
On the other hand, Jordynne Grace defeated former NXT Women’s Champion Giulia in a number one contender’s match for the NXT Women’s title and is now ready to lock horns with the current Champion, Stephanie Vaquer in Florida.
While Grace wants to capture her first title in the Stamford-based promotion, Vaquer wants to continue her reign after winning the title at NXT Roadblock in March.
TNA World Champion Joe Hendry will also be in action at Battleground. He is scheduled to defend the TNA title against Trick Williams inside the squared circle on May 25. This will be the first time ever that the TNA World Championship will be contested on a WWE PLE, showcasing the fruits of the growing working relationship between the two brands.
Following the developments from the May 13 episode of NXT, where Lorenzo’s interference via satellite from outside of Rizzo’s safe house cost D’Angelo the match against Wes Lee. D’Angelo was later ambushed by Lorenzo when he arrived at the safe house. The two stars will now settle their differences on May 25.
