The second edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event in May 2025 will emanate from Florida!

WWE brought the second edition of the vintage show, WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, which took place on January 25, 2025, at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. This came after the success of the first edition back in December 2024, when the popular NBC show was revived after years.

The promotion is now bringing in the second edition of SNME in 2025, and the third edition since the revival in 2024. The event will follow in the footsteps of Backlash 2025 PLE, which concluded on May 10 in St. Louis.

The Backlash 2025 saw John Cena defend the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of the show, while Dominik Mysterio and Lyra Valkyria defended their respective Intercontinental titles. Gunther got back into the win column while Jacob Fatu won in the fatal four-way match to retain the U.S. title.

The May edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event will also set the stage for the next PLE of 2025, the Money In the Bank 2025, which is set for June 7, 2025, at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

The May edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event is set for May 24 from the Yeungling Center in Tampa, Florida. The promotion has been advertising John Cena for the show and he will likely make another title defense on the show.

However, let us discuss the matches that has been announced for the match so far. During the broadcast of Backlash 2025, the promotion announced that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso will defend the title against Logan Paul at the show.

This is Jey’s second title defense, after his first title defense against Seth Rollins, which ended in Rollins picking up the win via DQ, with Jey retaining the title. However, after the match as the show went off air Jey was ambushed by Logan Paul, who laid him out with a brutal hook.

The attack came following Paul’s official callout following WrestleMania 41 and their confrontation, which ended with Jey superkicking Paul in the ring. The two stars will now meet inside the squared circle to settle the score in Tampa, Florida.

CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, and Bron Breakker kicked off the May 12th Monday Night Raw show with a brawl, where initially Rollins and Breakker took control, but the numbers game was neutralized as Sami Zayn appeared, followed by Jey Uso.

Zayn and Punk will now team up to battle the ‘Trifecta of Terror’, Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker on the May 24th edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event.

During a sit-down interview with Wade Barrett on the May 16 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, R-Truth revealed that he will battle John Cena at SNME. The promotion later made the match between the two official, Cena will battle R-Truth in a non-title match next Saturday.

During the same episode, Damian Priest issued a challenge to Drew McIntyre as he looks to close the chapter, once and for all, in a Steel Cage match at SNME. McIntyre appeared later in the show and accepted the challenge, making the steel cage match official for May 24.
