WWE SNME will once again make it’s return this month

WWE produced a fantastic Saturday Night’s Main Event at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, New York, on December 14, 2024, bringing 2.3 million viewers across NBC and Peacock, resulting in a great success.

The evening had six matches, featuring Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan successfully defending her title against Iyo Sky. Drew McIntyre beat Sami Zayn in a grudge match. The inaugural Women’s United States Championship was crowned, marking a historic event.

Chelsea Green defeated Michin to win the inaugural Women’s U.S. Champion. In contrast, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther defended his title in a triple-threat match against Damian Priest and Finn Balor.

The main event of the show saw Cody Rhodes reclaim the legendary Winged Eagle WWE Championship. He defeated Kevin Owens to defend his championship. This passionate rivalry will ultimately reach its culmination at the Royal Rumble when the WWE championship and the Winged Eagle Championship will swing above the ring in a ladder match.

But the most recent SNME is scheduled for January 25, 2025, at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. Fans can expect more action-packed episodes of this classic program into 2025.

All confirmed matches for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

  • Gunther (c) vs Jey Uso – World Heavyweight Championship
  • Bron Breakker (c) vs Sheamus – Intercontinental Championship
  • Braun Strowman vs Jacob Fatu
  • Undisputed WWE Championship – Michaels to moderate contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens
  • Rhea Ripley (c) vs Nia Jax – Women’s World Championship

Jey Uso vs Gunther (c) (World Heavyweight Championship)

Jey Uso will face Gunther in WWE’s Saturday Night Main Event. On the January 13 edition of WWE Raw, ‘The Ring General’ came into the ring and stated his dissatisfaction with the present condition of WWE, claiming that no one cares who is the ‘Best In The World’ or the ‘Tribal Chief’. Gunther went on to emphasize the value of his World Heavyweight Championship before being stopped by Jey Uso.

Uso entered the ring and expressed his intention to confront Gunther for the title, saying that all of his previous issues were now behind him. Gunther replied harshly, slamming Uso for a lack of big event skill while applauding his popularity and entertainment value. Gunther also appeared to accept Uso’s offer for a bout at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event before ripping him down and urging that he keep out of title business.

Uso responded fiercely, stating that he continues to wake up every morning and bet on himself despite being afraid to venture outside of the shadow of his tag team with his brother. Uso concluded the promo by stating that he will beat Gunther’s ass and grab the World Heavyweight Championship from him in Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Bron Breakker vs Sheamus (Intercontinental Championship)

Sheamus beat Ludwig Kaiser on the January 13 edition of WWE RAW before going over to ringside and attempting to provoke a brawl with Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker, who was seated in the audience.

Officials intervened and prevented the two from fighting, but following their confrontation, it was announced that Sheamus would be given an opportunity at the championship in less than two weeks at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Their past two singles matches resulted in disqualifications. Survivor Series: WarGames featured a Triple Threat involving Kaiser, but Breakker emerged victorious.

Braun Strowman vs Jacob Fatu

Following a confrontation last month many fans were hyped to see a clash between Braun Strowman and Jacob Fatu. The two giants locked eyes once again on the 01/17 episode of Friday Night SmackDown when Fatu along with Tama Tonga attacked Jimmy Uso who was in a match against Carmelo Hayes.

LA Knight stepped in to exact his revenge and when the numbers game took over, Strowman appeared to even the odds. However, before Fatu and Strowman could clash Tonga stepped in and pulled Fatu out of the ring.

The promotion has now listened to the fandom and has made a match official between the two powerhouses for the January 25 edition of SNME. Strowman and Fatu will lock horns for the first time in their careers.

Shawn Michaels to moderate contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens

Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens are set to collide in a ladder match at the 2025 Royal Rumble PLE. However, before their clash, the two stars refused to sign the contract first which has made things difficult for General Manager Nick Aldis.

GM Nick Aldis has now revealed that Rhodes will relinquish the title at SNME and a contract signing between the two will take place in San Antonio which will be moderated by WWE legend Shawn Michaels. Aldis has clarified if the two-stars refuse the sign the contract the match will be called off.

Rhea Ripley (c) vs Nia Jax – Women’s World Championship

Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley was attacked backstage during the arrival by Nia Jax on the 01/20 episode of Monday Night Raw. Ripley retaliated by attacking Jax after her clash against Bayley later in the show.

The two stars engaged in a brawl as security and officials rushed in and separated the two stars. Ripley picked up the mic and climbed on top of the announcer’s desk to float the idea of a title clash between her and Jax for the January 25 edition of SNME.

The Stamford-based promotion shortly made the Women’s World title clash between the two stars official for SNME.
