All matches & segments announced for WWE SmackDown (April 11, 2025): Cody Rhodes returns, Women's Gauntlet match & more

The April 04 episode of WWE SmackDown emanated from Chicago!

The April 04 episode of Friday Night SmackDown aired live from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The promotion announced multiple matches and segments for this week’s show. ‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk and Roman Reigns were advertised for the show in Punk’s hometown. Seth Rollins also made an appearance on the show.

As announced, Rey Fenix made his debut on the show and battled one-half of the NXT Tag Team Champion Nathan Frazer, while United States Champion LA Knight pinned Tama Tonga in a singles match, despite Solo Sikoa’s interference.

Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) defeated DIY (Tomasso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) to bag the #1 Contender spot for the WWE Tag Team Championship. On the other hand, the WrestleMania 41 clash between Kevin Owens and Randy Orton was called off due to KO’s neck injury.

Furthermore, Naomi defeated B-Fab and was ambushed by Jade Cargill after the match as General Manager Nick Aldis made the clash between the two officials for the Mania PLE. Jacob Fatu defeated Braun Strowman in a Last Man Standing Match to bag the #1 Contender for the WWE United States Championship.

Fatu will now battle LA Knight for the US title at the grandest stage. Additionally, in the closing moments of the show, Roman Reigns made an appearance and asked CM Punk to step into the ring and reveal the favor, Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman were inside the ring during the segment.

Punk appeared for the second time and was greeted again by the home crowd as he revealed that his best friend—Reigns’ own Wiseman, Paul Heyman—would be in his corner at WrestleMania 41. While Reigns asked Heyman to turn down the favor, Heyman refused as Punk then ambushed Reigns and landed the GTS to end the show.

During the 04/04 show, the promotion announced matches and segments for the next week’s show which will air live from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is set to make his return ahead of the title defense at the grandest stage.

After their fiery promos on the 04/04 show, Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest are set to go face-to-face on next week’s show, while after a successful debut win against Nathan Frazer, Rey Fenix is set to battle Legado Del Fanstama’s Berto.

A women’s Gauntlet match is also announced for the show where six different tag teams will battle for the number one contender spot for the WWE Women’s Championship. The winner of the match will battle the current champs Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez at the WrestleMania 41 PLE.
