The 01/31 episode of the Blue brand is the go-home show for Royal Rumble PLE

The 01/24 episode of Friday Night SmackDown featured multiple segments and interactions that were used to build up towards the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event which will emanate from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.

The show also featured more Royal Rumble announcements as well as a tag team clash for the WWE Tag Team titles between the champion Tomasso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano (DIY) and Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin (MCMG) at the Lucas Oil Stadium on February 1.

Charlotte Flair‘s return was also confirmed as she announced her entry into the 2025 Rumble match. Damian Priest and The Miz were transferred to the Blue brand while A-Town Down Under were transferred to Raw.

Motor City Machine Guns defeated Pretty Deadly which granted them a title shot at the upcoming PLE, they will now team up with Los Garzas to battle DIY and Pretty Deadly on next week’s show.

As announced tonight, Chelsea Green will defend her US title against Michin, this came after Michin and B-Fab defeated Green and Niven in a tag match. Former Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan also appeared on the 01/24 show and took part in a six-woman tag match that featured the likes of Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Nia Jax, and Candice LeRae.

Morgan will now battle one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Naomi. Also, announced for the show is the clash between Jimmy Uso and Carmelo Hayes which was originally set for tonight’s show but was changed after Jimmy’s altercation with Kevin Owens.

The 01/31 episode of Friday Night SmackDown will emanate from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana which is a 5-minute drive from the venue for the Rumble PLE. The next week’s episode is also the go-home show for the Royal Rumble 2025 PLE.
