All participants confirmed for next week's WWE NXT Championship #1 contender battle royal (May 6, 2025)

The NXT Championship will be on the line at NXT Battleground 2025!
During the April 29 show, the developmental brand announced matches for next week’s show as the build towards NXT Battleground 2025 starts. The May 06 episode of WWE NXT will air live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Among the matches announced, one that caught fans’ attention was the 25-man battle royal, which is set to determine the # contender for the NXT Championship, with the winner set to battle the current Champion Oba Femi at NXT Battleground 2025. Femi captured the title in a triple-threat match at NXT New Year’s Evil in January, and his current title reign stands at 113 days.
The 2025 edition of NXT Battleground is set for Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, and will air via WWE’s livestreaming platforms. It will also mark the first Battleground to air on Netflix internationally.

The list contains a total of 23 participants, and the remaining two are likely being kept under wraps by the promotion, possibly to be revealed later as surprises for fans. Additionally, NXT General Manager Ava, on the April 29 show, has also announced a #1 contenders match for the NXT Women’s Championship for next week between Giulia and Jordynne Grace, with the winner facing the champion Stephanie Vaquer on May 25.
