All potential storylines teased on 5/31 WWE SmackDown

A few different ideas for the near future were teased on the Blue brand this week

WWE hosted the May 31, 2024 episode of SmackDown at the MVP Arena in Albany, New York, United States. It is one of the most interesting episodes in recent times, which sets the foundation for the upcoming events. Here are some of the potential feuds and storylines that were teased on this week’s SmackDown.

Piper Niven vs Bayley for Clash at the Castle

In the opening segment of the show, Nia Jax called Bayley to the ring, as she earned the title shot for the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam 2024. While Bayley made her way to the ring, Piper Niven attacked Bayley from the back and went on to confront Nia Jax saying that by the time of SummerSlam, Niven will be the WWE Women’s Champion. The promo teases that Piper Niven could challenge Bayley for the title, potentially at Clash at the Castle 2024, which is the upcoming PLE.

Austin Theory could turn babyface soon

On this week’s SmackDown, Austin Theory faced Tommaso Ciampa of #DIY in a singles match. During the match, Grayson Waller, who stood outside the ring to support Theory, picked up an argument with Wade Barrett, where Waller took credits for making Austin Theory relevant using the Grayson Waller rub.

Theory got distracted by that and eventually lost the match to Ciampa. It seems like Waller could anytime dump Theory, making Theory the babyface anytime soon.

LDF’s pursuits to recruit Andrade

This Friday, Angel Garza of Legado Del Fantasma tried his best to recruit Andrade into Legado Del Fantasma. However Andrade declined the request. Escobar and LDF after Andrade’s match came to celebrate with him, but Andrade again left them. This seems like LDF’s pursuit to recruit Andrade would continue in the upcoming shows.

LA Knight vs Logan Paul vs Carmelo Hayes

In the backstage segment, LA Knight met Nick Aldis in his office and asked about Logan Paul. Coming out of the ring, Knight announced that he wanted the United States Championship. However got confronted by Carmelo Hayes, and they have a heated conversation. It seems like the company has been paving way for a Triangular Storyline between the three surrounding the US title

Blair Davenport vs Naomi

On SmackDown, Blair Davenport appeared on SmackDown for the very first time in Nick Aldis’ office. They were interrupted by Naomi, which made Davenport angry and she said that she will show who she is. It seems like Davenport’s first feud in SmackDown could be against Naomi.

AJ Styles vs Cody Rhodes for Clash at the Castle

AJ Styles played a retirement tease on this week’s show and gave a retirement speech in the main event of the show. However it was a plan to assault Cody Rhodes. Styles realigned with The OC and assaulted Cody. This seems like the AJ Styles vs Cody Rhodes feud will continue resulting in a potential match at Clash at the Castle.
