The Cenation Leader will retire from pro wrestling at the end of 2025
There are many discussions, debates, and disagreements among pro wrestling fans on various topics, but one thing they all agree on is that John Cena is the greatest of all time. The G.O.A.T. of pro wrestling is one of the most accomplished stars in all of wrestling.
Cena is not just the biggest name in the Stamford-based promotion but is also one of the most successful stars in terms of titles and accolades. The Cenation Leader is currently tied with Ric Flair as the 16-time WWE World Champion.
Cena has also held the United States Championship five times in his WWE career. Additionally, he is a two-time WWE Tag Team Champion and a WWE World Tag Team Champion, each with different partners.
The Cenation Leader kicked off his farewell tour on the Netflix debut episode of Monday Night Raw on January 6. Cena also announced his entry into the 2025 Rumble match during his appearance.
This was Cena’s ninth Rumble entry he has previously partaken in eight Rumble matches, his first Rumble appearance was in 2003 which was held at the Fleet Center in Boston, Massachusetts, he was eliminated by the Undertaker.
Cena’s first Royal Rumble victory came in 2008, where he entered as the final participant. Rather than waiting until WrestleMania, he cashed in his title shot against WWE Champion Randy Orton at No Way Out on February 17. However, the win came via disqualification which meant Orton kept the titles.
The Cenation Leader won the Rumble for the second time in his WWE career in 2013, this win gave him the title shot against The Rock at WrestleMania 29. The Rock successfully defended the title in a match which became an instant classic.

The Cenation Leader has partaken in a total of nine Rumble matches, two of which he has won as mentioned earlier. In his final Rumble appearance in 2025, Cena entered the match at the 23rd spot and eliminated a total of three participants before himself being eliminated by Jey Uso and finish as the runner up for the event.
