John Cena is set for singles action this week on SmackDown!

As Night of Champions 2025 inches closer, the tournament bracket for the King and Queen of the Ring is taking shape. Two semi-finals for the tournament are set for this week’s show, which will decide one finalist for both the King and Queen of the Ring.

This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to air live from the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The show will continue to build towards the Night of Champions 2025, likely announcing more matches for the show.

After two back-to-back attacks on the Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena, R-Truth got what he asked for as General Manager Nick Aldis announced a singles non-title match for this week’s show. Truth will battle in a rematch from their meeting at the May edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event.

In the first semi-finals of the King of the Ring Tournament, Randy Orton will battle Sami Zayn on this week’s show. The winner of the match will advance to the finals and will battle the winner of the second semi-final between Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso.

On the other hand, in the first semi-final match of the Queen of the King tournament, Alexa Bliss will battle Asuka, who made her return on this week’s Raw and defeated Ivy Nile, Stephanie Vaquer, and Raquel Rodriguez to secure the final spot in the semi-finals.
