Joe Hendry will defend the TNA World title on the 2025 edition!
The 2025 edition of NXT Battleground is just around the corner, as fans are excited to see what’s in store for them from the developmental brand. The show will follow the May 24 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, which featured stars from the main roster.
The 2025 edition will become the first Battleground event to air on Netflix internationally. Additionally, this year’s event is set to run opposite All Elite Wrestling’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view, similar to 2023. The promotion has announced multiple matches for the show, including title clashes.
After emerging victorious in the 25-man battle royal on the May 06 episode, Myles Borne captured the number one contender’s spot for the NXT Championship and is now set to battle the current Champion Oba Femi in Tampa.
Jordynne Grace defeated former NXT Women’s Champion Giulia in a number one contender’s match for the NXT Women’s title and is now ready to lock horns with the current Champion, Stephanie Vaquer, to capture her first title in the WWE.
TNA World Champion Joe Hendry is set to defend the title in the NXT ring against former NXT Champion Trick Williams. The match has an intense build, and it will be interesting to see if the TNA Champion manages to defend the throne.
Kelani Jordan earned the number one contender spot in the recent show of WWE NXT and will not battle the Champion Sol Ruca with the NXT North American Championship on the line this Sunday. Tony D’Angelo is also set to lock horns against Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo in a singles match.
Furthermore, the team of Hank & Tank (Hank Walker and Tank Ledger), along with Josh Briggs, will battle The Culling (Brooks Jensen, Niko Vance, and Shawn Spears) in a six-man tag team match.
