This week’s episode of SmackDown features a tag title clash
The Stamford-based promotion is descending upon the city that never sleeps to deliver the 02/21 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The show will emanate live from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisana.
With 2025 Royal Rumble winners Jey Uso and Charlotte Flair making their picks for WrestleMania the attention has shifted to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton as participants in the Chamber match want to win next month and compete at the grandest stage for the title.
The promotion has announced a total of two matches for this week’s show. The show will likely feature storylines leading up to the Elimination Chamber PLE which will emanate on March 1 from the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada.
WWE Tag Team Champion Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano (DIY) are set to defend their titles against Kit Wilson and Elton Prince (Pretty Deadly) in this week’s episode. This match was set after Pretty Deadly defeated the tag champs in a non-title match to earn the number one contender’s spot.
A match between Jimmy Uso and Drew McIntyre has also been announced following their confrontation last week in Washington where Jimmy took out McIntyre with a brutal superkick. Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is set to team up with Damian Priest and Braun Storwman to battle the team of Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga in a triple-threat match.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is set to make his return on the 02/21 episode of Friday Night SmackDown in New Orleans, this was confirmed by WWE CCO Triple H.
