The Blue brand will move to a three-hour format from January 03

The first episode of Friday Night SmackDown in 2025 will be aired live from the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The 01/03 episode will be a three-hour show, marking the Blue brand’s transition to a three-hour format, with this upcoming episode being the first of its kind.

The Stamford-based promotion will kick off the year with the electrifying show of Friday Night SmackDown which will be followed by the highly anticipated debut of Monday Night Raw on Netflix.

Multiple top stars are advertised for the show including Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax, LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, Kevin Owens, and more. Let us take a look at the preview of the first show of the Blue brand in 2025.

On the January 3rd edition, WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax will defend her title against Noami, one half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions. Naomi has replaced Jade Cargill, who is out with an injury, and has joined Bianca Belair as the other half of the tag team champions.

United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura will face Andrade in a non-title match on the inaugural episode of 2025. The bout was advertised at the previous week’s program, with Andrade appearing in a video package challenging the title. Andrade cautioned Nakamura, stating that he was not frightened of the champion’s mind tricks. He promised to expose Nakamura as the two battled inside the ring.
