This week’s episode of SmackDown features a title rematch
The Stamford-based promotion delivered the historic debut episode of Monday Night RAW on Netflix as promised. The show featured multiple appearances from top stars and four high-stakes matches that featured breathtaking moments.
The promotion is now ready for its regular programming of Friday Night SmackDown this week. The second episode of the Blue brand will be aired live from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. This is also the second episode to air for three hours following the transition last week.
The highlighting moment from last week’s episode was Tiffany Stratton cashing in her MITB contract against Nia Jax and becoming the WWE Women’s Champion for the first time in her career.
The new WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton is set to appear on the 01/10 episode of the Blue brand. She will be making her appearance with a new custom Championship.
The animosity between Shinsuke Nakamura, the current United States Champion, and LA Knight began after Nakamura assaulted Knight upon his return in November 2024. This conflict concluded in a title battle between the two at Survivor Series 2024 PLE, with Nakamura defeating Knight to become US Champion.
The victory brought Knight’s championship reign to an end after 119 days and began Nakamura’s third reign as United States champion. Nakamura wasn’t finished with Knight, so he resumed his onslaught after Survivor Series PLE. In the previous episode, Knight returned the favor by attacking Nakamura following his bout against Andrade.
