This week’s episode of SmackDown is SNME’s go-home show
As the Stamford-based promotion gears up for the January 25 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, storyline and feuds have reached a boiling point. The 01/24 episode of Friday Night SmackDown will be the go-home show for SNME.
The 01/24 episode of SmackDown will be aired live from the Moody Centre in Austin, Texas which is about an hour away from the SNME venue in San Antonio. The episode will follow in the footsteps of Raw and will continue building toward SNME and will likely feature more Royal Rumble announcements.
Multiple top stars are slated to appear on the show including Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, LA Knight, Women’s US Champion Chelsea Green, Bianca Belair, and many more.
LA Knight, a former United States champion, will face Tama Tonga. The two stars have collided in the previous two episodes, as Tonga and Jacob Fatu cause havoc in the absence of Solo Sikoa.
Tonga and Fatu cost Knight the US championship rematch against Shinsuke Nakamura on the Blue brand’s 01/10 broadcast. Knight responded on last week’s program, with help from Braun Strowman when the numbers game took over. This incident resulted in a match between Fatu and Strowman at SNME this Saturday, as well as a match between Knight and Tonga for SmackDown on January 28.
