WWE universe saw three title changes on WrestleMania 41 night one
WrestleMania 41 Night One delivered on the hype with three major title changes that shook up the WWE landscape in front of a red-hot crowd.
Jey Uso, The New Day, and Jacob Fatu walked out of the stadium with gold around their waists, capping off a historic night full of drama, surprises, and WrestleMania moments.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship – Jey Uso
In the opening event of WrestleMania 41, Jey Uso defeated Gunther to become the new World Heavyweight Champion, ending Gunther’s near year-long dominant reign. This was arguably Jey’s biggest singles win to date, completing a journey that began when he broke free from The Bloodline.
Jey endured a brutal onslaught from the “Ring General,” including a devastating superplex into a dropkick-powerbomb combo that nearly ended it. But Jey wouldn’t stay down.
After hitting a Samoan Drop, Spear and multiple Uso Splashes, he shocked the world by making Gunther tap out with his own version of the sleeper hold, a poetic twist given Gunther’s own signature submission style.
WWE World Tag Team Champions – The New Day
Earlier in night one of WrestleMania 41, The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) captured the World Tag Team Championships from The War Raiders in a high-energy, chaotic clash.
The Raiders dominated early with a violent onslaught that included Ivar crashing Woods into the LED board and a massive crossbody on the apron. However, New Day turned the tide by targeting Erik’s previously injured back, setting up the perfect storm.
After a double stomp from Kofi and a lateral press pin from Woods, with Kofi sneaking in to hold Ivar’s legs down on the apron, the former multi-time champs pulled off the win, securing yet another WrestleMania milestone in their decorated careers.
WWE United States Championship – Jacob Fatu
In the United States Championship bout, Jacob Fatu made an unforgettable WrestleMania debut, dethroning LA Knight in a physically intense matchup.
Fatu entered wearing a werewolf mask, while Knight rolled up in a flashy Maserati, showing this one was as much about spectacle as it was competition.
Fatu survived Knight’s signature BFT, kicking out and following up with a series of breathtaking moonsaults that wowed fans and sealed the win. The victory cements Fatu’s place as a force in WWE, immediately establishing him as a future main event player.
