Multiple superstars were released recently.
The infamous recent tradition of WWE making multiple talent cuts after WrestleMania continued in 2026. After the conclusion of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas last weekend, the promotion before the fallout show of SmackDown last night released multiple big names.
Multiple top names, including Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, the entire Wyatt Sicks faction, Alba Fyre, Apollo Crews, Santos Escobar, Zoey Stark, Motor City Machine Guns, and even massive fan-favorite Kairi Sane, were all part of the roster cuts.
Names like Kairi, Aleister, Zelina, and Alba Fyre were regularly being featured on programming, making their release even more confusing. The Wyatt Sicks even competed in a street fight against Solo Sikoa’s MFT on the go-home show of Mania.
Names from NXT and talents under the developmental programmes were also released, including Luca Crusifino, Tyra Mae Steele, Chris Island, Tyson Dupont, and Tyriek Igwe, among others.
Notably, Cory Hays of Bodyslam reported that superstars who were released recently were informed of their departures directly by TKO.
Reacting to her and her husband Aliester’s release, Zelina also confirmed that she got a call from TKO this time instead of Stamford. Black made his return to the company last year after Mania, kicking off his second run.
