Matt Hardy is one of the veteran professional wrestlers, who has been in the industry for over 32 years. He has wrestled for a number of big wrestling promotions such as WWE, TNA/Impact Wrestling & AEW and made a big impact wherever he stays. Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy dubbed as The Hardy Boyz have ruled the tag team division for so long.

Hardy had a great reign in WWE throughout his time, where he was a 16-time champion. Hardy after a number of disagreements about scripting his own creative and contract expiring, left WWE in March 2020. He then joined AEW and still works for the company teaming up with his brother Jeff Hardy. Despite being contracted to AEW, Matt Hardy appeared on WWE Raw.

During the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, commentator, Michael Cole referenced the Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy match at WrestleMania 25, while talking about the upcoming Jey Uso vs Jimmy Uso’s match at WrestleMania 40.

On Instagram, Matt’s wife Reby Hardy made it clear that she was aware when Michael Cole referred to The Hardys. She also revealed that she & Matt Hardy were at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina and had a great time watching the March 18, 2024 Raw.

North Carolina is the hometown of Matt Hardy, who was born, raised and currently resides there. In recent times, we could see a number of AEW stars being mentioned on WWE television including Michael Cole thanking Sting on his retirement, Buddy Mathews’ picture with Rhea Ripley at UFC, Chris Jericho in the Intercontinental Championship vignette tapings and now Matt Hardy reference.

We have also witnessed WWE stars, Bayley, Naomi & Tamina going to AEW Collision for their friend Mercedes Mone’s AEW debut. Is the potential appearances of stars paving way to a forbidden door or a crossover between WWE & AEW? Comment your thoughts.

Last time when Matt was seen on AEW television was in February 2024 on Rampage, where he showed up after his brother injured his nose by Sami Guevara’s top rope move. Matt Hardy came out to escort Jeff backstage and was able to see him yelling Sami Guevara on the fan tapings of the show.
