The controversial line was reportedly part of WWE’s planned script before being removed from the Netflix broadcast
Becky Lynch made her return to WWE on the August 3 episode of Monday Night RAW, confronting Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and her Judgment Day allies. However, one line from Lynch’s promo was edited out of the Netflix broadcast.
During her return, Lynch claimed Morgan was not only not the best champion in Judgment Day, but also “not the best champion who had slept with Dominik Mysterio.” The line drew a strong reaction from the live crowd but was subsequently removed from WWE’s Netflix presentation.
According to reports from Fightful Select and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, however, the line was not an unscripted comment or something that created backstage controversy.
Becky Lynch’s Liv Morgan line was reportedly planned
Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere
The reports indicate that Lynch’s comment about Morgan and Dominik Mysterio was included in WWE’s planned rundown for the show.
That means the controversial remark was reportedly approved as part of the promo rather than being something Lynch improvised in the moment.
The decision to remove it appears to have come during the editing process for the Netflix version of RAW.
WWE has increasingly edited portions of its programming for the Netflix audience, with certain instances of profanity, blood and other potentially sensitive material being blurred, muted or removed entirely.
Lynch’s line appears to have fallen into that category, despite being deliberately included in the original live broadcast.
Why was the line removed from Netflix?
There has been no indication that WWE considered the line an internal problem or that Lynch was reprimanded for delivering it.
Instead, the available reporting suggests the decision was connected to how WWE’s content is presented on Netflix, where the company has previously made changes to certain moments from its programming.
The edit therefore appears to be a broadcast decision rather than a creative disagreement.
Lynch’s return still delivered the intended impact, as she immediately inserted herself into the Women’s World Championship picture and reignited her rivalry with Morgan.
For now, the edited version means viewers watching RAW on Netflix will not see the full promo exactly as it played out live.
What did Becky Lynch say about Liv Morgan?
Lynch made a provocative reference to Morgan’s relationship with Dominik Mysterio during her RAW return promo.
Was Becky Lynch’s line scripted?
Reports from Fightful Select and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter indicate the line was part of WWE’s planned rundown.
