Bayley retains WWE Women's Champion at 2024 Backlash France

The rivalry between Bayley, Naomi, and Tiffany Stratton has certainly added an intriguing layer to the women’s division on SmackDown. Bayley’s quick transition from winning the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania to defending it against Naomi was met with unexpected interference from Tiffany, disrupting the initial title match.

Tiffany’s interference sparked tensions between all three competitors, leading to a series of confrontations and impromptu matches. Despite Naomi’s victory over Tiffany, the situation escalated when Nia Jax intervened, causing further chaos and uncertainty.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis took decisive action by scheduling a rematch between Tiffany and Naomi, with the stipulation that the winner would challenge Bayley for the title at Backlash. However, even that match failed to produce a clear winner due to outside interference, prompting Aldis to make the bold decision of turning the title match into a Triple Threat Match.

Triple threat match begins

The triple threat match was the second on the line at the Backlash Premium Live event. The match started with an entrance of Tiffy Time, Tiffany. Though the audience was not positive towards her, Corey was, obviously.

It was Naomi to enter second with the crowd singalong again, which was again a great show from the audience and there were flashlights everywhere in order to support the babyface superstar there. The last to enter was the Champion, Bayley, who finally won the Championship against her former partner at the WWE WrestleMania 40.

It was Tiffany who got an upper hand first with rollups by rollups following, it was Bayley who got an upper hand there after with crowd chanting continuing during the match. Fans actually started chanting Tiffy time, followed by her gymnastics, thereafter cover followed by a cover again and Bayley kicking at two.

Tiffany was getting an upper hand with Bayley kicking out to the pin attempts of Tiffany, thereafter spearing her through the ropes. Bayley hit Tiffany with a suicide drive after that, with Naomi hitting neck breaker to Bayley. This is awesome chants were present in this match too where Bayley broke the pin attempt from Naomi to Tiffany.

Bayley wins the match

Naomi thereafter locked Tiffany into a submission hold broken by Bayley from the top and Bayley getting frustrated because of the kick outs following kick outs. Bailey hit Stratton with Belly to Belly suplex and Stratton kicking out at two.

As Naomi dragged Stratton out of the ring, Stratton did a miracle when Naomi was put through table with the spine first and then to Bayley with the same move. Punches followed each other when two friends Bayley and Naomi came face to face thereafter pinning Naomi to retain the title.
