Five best John Cena Survivor Series matches in WWE history

John Cena has delivered some incredible performances at Survivor Series.

The WWE Universe will witness John Cena’s final in-ring performance at this year’s Survivor Series Premium Live Event. This will be his last PLE appearance, as he is set to retire at SNME in December.

The Cenation Leader will put his WWE Intercontinental title on the line against Dominik Mysterio in an explosive showdown at the 2025 edition. With Cena having a remarkable history with the PLE, here is a look back at John Cena’s top five matches at Survivor Series:

5. Team Cena vs Team Authority (2014)

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon assembled a team of mercenaries to battle John Cena’s squad in a traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series match.

It was a high-stakes showdown that saw Team Cena’s Dolph Ziggler become the sole survivor, pinning Seth Rollins in the end with the help of the debuting Sting to win the match.

4. vs Kurt Angle (2005)

During his first reign as the WWE Champion, John Cena defended the title against his very first WWE opponent, Kurt Angle, at Survivor Series 2005. It was a different scenario from the aforementioned match, as Cena went up in full force against the Olympic Hero and defeated him to retain the title.

3. vs Chris Jericho (2008)

After being out of action for months with a neck injury suffered at SummerSlam 2008, Cena returned to battle Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight title at Survivor Series 2008. The Cenation Leader did not lose a step and had a valiant battle against Jericho, resulting in his win and first-ever reign as World Champion.

2. John Cena vs Triple H vs Shawn Michaels (2009)

Cena squared off against D-X members, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels with his WWE championship at stake in a triple-threat match at WWE Survivor Series 2009. The match was memorable, from HBK superkicking his own partner to other jaw-dropping moments. It ended with Cena outlasting both DX cohorts and retaining his title in the process.

1. John Cena & The Rock vs The Miz & R-Truth (2011)

The two arch-rivals, The Rock and John Cena, teamed up to battle the terrorizing duo of R-Truth and The Miz at Survivor Series 2011. Despite major tensions, they were able to co-exist as a team and score the victory. However, the alliance came to an end as the bell rang, with The Final Boss nailing Cena with a Rock Bottom.
