The WWE Bad Blood event has some of the best brutal moments in history!

WWE Bad Blood is the upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view hosted by WWE. WWF debuted the event in October 1997 and the first event was named “Badd Blood: In Your House”. After renaming the promotion from WWF to WWE, the company brought the event back as a pay-per-view in 2003 with the name ‘Bad Blood’ in June and continued for the next year (2004).

WWE revamped the event as a Premium Live Event this year (2024), after twenty years. As we are heading to the fourth Bad Blood PLE, here we take a look at the top five best moments of the event’s history.

5. Shawn Michaels crashes through the table

In the 1997 Bad Blood event, Shawn Michaels faced The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match, where both took the fight to the top of the cage. Taker backdropped Michaels on top of the cage and Michaels tried to escape from the top, however, Taker caught him and stomped his hands to make Michaels jump from the cage to the Spanish announcement table, breaking in half. Although Michaels was hurt, Taker showed no mercy. The match received a five-star rating.

4. Triathlon match- Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Eric Bischoff

In the 2003 Bad Blood event, Stone Cold Steve Austin faced Eric Bischoff in a Triathlon match. Austin and Bischoff participated in the belching contest as the first match, where Austin defeated Bischoff.

In the second contest, Austin performed a stunner on Mae Young, failing to place his face on Mae Young’s crotch and got eliminated. In the final contest, both had a pigpen match, where  Austin threw Bishoff into the pig pen and won the match by 2-0.

3. Triple H vs Shawn Michaels

In the 2004 Bad Blood event, Triple H faced Shawn Michaels in a Hell in a Cell match in the main event. Michaels dominated the match initially causing Triple H to bleed. Triple H used the steel steps to have brief control, however Michaels laid the Hunter down and delivered a diving elbow through the table.

After 47 minutes of tough contest, Triple H performed a pedigree and won the match. HBK received a standing ovation after the match. This is one of the longest main events in the history of the PLE.

2. Triple H vs Kevin Nash

In the 2003 Bad Blood event, Triple H defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Kevin Nash in a singles match. Mick Foley was the special guest referee for the match. Both used ringside weapons to gain an advantage. The barbed wire slam made Nash gain advantage and Triple H brought a sledgehammer to strike.

Foley tried to pull the weapon from the Game, but Triple H attacked Foley and Nash with the steel chair and the sledgehammer. Hunter performed a pedigree on Nash and forced Foley to count the fall, to win the match and retain the title. This was one of the brutal moments, where all the members inside the ring, including the referee got busted open.

1. Kane’s debut

The backstory involved Paul Bearer threatening The Undertaker saying that he brought up his abandoned brother and he would come to seek revenge on him. Taker didn’t believe in Bearer, but Paul Bearer brought Kane to the 1997 Badd Blood: In Your House event, interfering in The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels’ Hell in a Cell match to determine the #1 Contender for the WWF Championship. Kane broke the cell’s door and confronted Taker and performed a Tombstone Piledriver on Taker to make him lose the match.
