WWE SummerSlam has produced some of the most iconic moments in the company’s history.

WWE is set to produce its next Premium Live Event, WWE SummerSlam, set to take place on Saturday, August 3rd, at the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Ohio. The event is fast approaching and is expected to be a blockbuster show, much like its rich history has proven in over three decades.

With The Biggest Party of the Summer on the horizon, let us take a look back at the top five iconic WWE SummerSlam moments of all time:

5. Brother vs Brother-in-law

One of the most memorable editions of SummerSlam was the 1992 edition that took place in Wembley Stadium, London. The match that headlined the show as the marquee match was the clash between Bret Hart and his brother-in-law, British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith. The match has been considered one of the greatest in-ring bouts in the history of the PLE, and the British Bulldog triumphed over Bret to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

4. Youngest WWE Champion

The 2002 edition of WWE SummerSlam was built around the face of the company, The Rock and the Next Big Thing, Brock Lesnar. The duo fought in a classic showdown with the WWE Championship on the line, and the match was Lesnar’s first major opportunity, only months after his debut. Lesnar capitalized on it and defeated The Great One shockingly to become the youngest WWE Champion at the age of 25 years.

3. Suplex City

Brock Lesnar had some of the most memorable moments in WWE SummerSlam history. An iconic moment saw the birth of his infamous ‘Suplex City’ in 2014 when he battled John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. In highly dominant fashion, Lesnar delivered a shocking 16 suplexes to The Cenation Leader, becoming a memorable sight to remember and walked away with the win and became the new champion.

2. Becky Lynch finally snaps

Becky Lynch had a lackluster run on the WWE main roster until 2018. But at that year’s SummerSlam, everything changed for the WWE superstar who later on became The Man. After coming up short to win the SmackDown Championship from Carmella in a triple threat match involving Charlotte Flair as well and who won the match, a shocking moment happened. Right, as if it looked like she was going to congratulate Flair, Becky snapped and took down The Queen, which set the tone for her rise to superstardom.

1. The Tribal Chief is here

Roman Reigns was on a hiatus since WrestleMania 36 due to the onset of the pandemic. However, he shocked the world by making his return at the end of SummerSlam 2020. Just as The Fiend Bray Wyatt won the WWE Universal Championship from Braun Strowman in the main event, Reigns emerged out of nowhere and destroyed both men in dominant fashion, a side the WWE Universe had never seen of him. That night changed everything as Roman Reigns went on to have one of the greatest runs of all time and became the biggest star of the modern era.
