The WWE Survivor Series event has seen some of the most dominant and top-tier forces assemble.
The wrestling fans have their eye set on the festivities set to go down on November 30, at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada for WWE Survivor Series PLE. As we approach one of WWE’s Big 4 events, an important part of the show has been the compelling squads assembled for multi-man matches over the years.
Whether it was the traditional 5-on-5 Elimination tag team match or the deadly WarGames bout, the WWE Survivor Series has been the home of super teams for the last 38 years. Here is a look at Khelnow’s Top 10 best WWE Survivor Series Teams of all time:
10. Team Austin- 2003
In his war for full ownership of the RAW General Manager position against Eric Bischoff, co-GM Stone Cold Steve Austin assembled a top-notch squad for the 5-on-5 Elimination tag team match. The team included Hall of Famers, such as Shawn Michaels, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, and The Dudley Boyz, in their prime. The team showed exceptional performance, but despite their combined effort and star power, came up short against Bischoff’s team at WWE Survivor Series 2003.
9. Team Bianca Belair- 2022
The first-ever Women’s WarGames match on the main roster as part of the WWE Survivor Series in 2022 had a close-knit yet dominant team put together by Bianca Belair. The EST’s team included superstars like Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim, and Becky Lynch. With every superstar bringing their unique style and offence, Team Belair won against the united force of Team Damage CTRL.
8. The Ultimate Warrior, LOD and The Texas Tornado- 1990
The combined force of then-WWE Champion, The Ultimate Warrior, the hard-hitting Legion of Doom (Animal and Hawk) and Kerry Von Erich, known as The Texas Tornado, was considered one of the strongest teams in Survivor Series history. At the 1990 edition of the show, they competed against Team Perfect, comprising Mr. Perfect and Demolition (Crush, Ax & Smash), outlasting them in a memorable showdown.
7. Men’s Team- 2023
The all-star team of WWE’s ‘Renaissance Era’ comprised main event players like Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, and the returning Randy Orton against Team Judgment Day inside the WarGames match in 2023. Despite being outnumbered for the majority of the match, Orton’s timely appearance in the end evened the field and led to Cody Rhodes securing the winning pinfall for his star-studded team.
6. Eddie Guerrero, The Big Show, Rob Van Dam, and John Cena- 2004
A top-tier Survivor Series team assembled during the Ruthless Aggression era saw two top technical and high-flying wrestlers, Eddie Guerrero and Rob Van Dam, join forces with John Cena and Big Show, bringing their raw power and brute strength. The team went up against Team Kurt Angle (Carlito, Luther Reigns and Mark Jindrak) and won the match, losing only one teammate, Rob Van Dam, who was eliminated.
5. Lex Luger, The Undertaker, Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner- 1993
The 1993 edition of the WWE Survivor Series saw their biggest draw; Lex Luger, joining forces with the dominant Steiner Brothers and one of the most celebrated legends of all time, The Undertaker. The team, billed as the All-Americans, competed against The Foreign Fanatics (Yokozuna, Crush, Ludvig Borga and Quebecer Jacques) and emerged victorious over their opposition.
4. Team Hulkamaniacs- 1989
Team Hulkamaniacs, led by their biggest star at the time, Hulk Hogan and joined by the top tag team at the time, Demolition, and the ever-popular Jake “The Snake” Roberts, competed against The Million Dollar Team (Ted DiBiase, The Warlord, The Barbarian and Zeus). The sheer power, tag team antics and the star-studded squad were the perfect blend for the classic team to emerge victorious over Ted DiBiase’s team.
3. Men’s NXT Team- 2019
The first and only participation of WWE NXT in a multi-man match at the Survivor Series came at the 2019 edition of the WWE Survivor Series. The squad put together by WWE Hall of Famers Triple H and Shawn Michaels for the men’s side included top prospects at the time, Tommaso Ciampa, Damian Priest, Matt Riddle, Keith Lee, and Gunther. The developmental team proved their mantle with a classic performance and even saw Keith Lee making it to the final two against the eventual winner, Roman Reigns.
2. The Bloodline- 2022
One of the most bonded and dominant teams put together for a multi-man Survivor Series match was The Bloodline for WarGames in 2022. The top stars from the Anoa’i family, Roman Reigns, The Usos, Solo Sikoa and their Honorary Uce, Sami Zayn, went against Team Brawling Brutes. In a pivotal moment, Zayn proved his loyalty to the team and took out the opponent on the opposite side and his best friend, Kevin Owens, to lead The Bloodline to victory.
1. Team WWF- 2001
Vince McMahon put together one of the biggest and strongest teams for his 5-on-5 traditional elimination match against Team Alliance. The team comprised The Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, Chris Jericho and The Rock, with the future of the business at stake. McMahon’s squad and game plan proved to be a masterstroke as Kurt Angle betrayed Team Alliance, allowing The Final Boss to take down Steve Austin for the pin and score the win for Team WWE in memorable fashion.
