Big matches announced for 5/21 episode of WWE NXT

NXT is coming with some interesting matchups

WWE NXT has been highly concentrating on building the feuds and storylines for the upcoming NXT Battleground pay-per-view in UFC Apex.

A lot of things happened this week in the black and yellow brand, which resulted in multiple matches being announced for next week’s show, including the first-ever Women’s North American Championship qualifying matches and the #1 Contender for the North American Championship. Here are the matches that got announced for next week’s episode of WWE NXT.

NXT North American Championship #1 Contender’s Match- Ivar vs Wes Lee vs Josh Briggs

On the 5/14 episode, Wes Lee addressed NXT Universe saying that he loves the NXT North American Championship. The North American Champion, Oba Femi confronted Lee claiming that he was the better champion and asked Wes Lee to prove himself to earn a title shot.

Ivar then interfered and claimed a title shot, followed by Josh Briggs, who also claimed a title shot. This resulted in a Triple Threat #1 Contender’s Match between Wes Lee, Ivar and Josh Briggs next week.

NXT Women’s North American Championship Qualifier- Fallon Henley vs Thea Hail

The NXT Women’s North American Championship Qualifier matches will be continuing next week with the ongoing brawl. Thea Hail after being viciously attacked by Fallon Henley weeks ago, will finally get her redemption in the Qualifying matches next week. The winner will be joining Sol Ruca and Lash Legend at Battleground for the championship ladder match.

NXT Women’s North American Championship Qualifier- Brinley Reece vs Jaida Parker

In the second NXT Women’s North American Championship Qualifying match, Brinley Reece will face Jaida Parker. Both of them were not able to stand this week, as both were involved in a brawl ringside. They will finally have their time to settle things officially next week in the qualifying match. The winner will be joining Sol Ruca and Lash Legend at Battleground for the ladder match.

Karmen Petrovic & Natalya vs Lola Vice & Shayna Baszler

The rivalry between the team of Natalya, Karmen Petrovic & the team of Lola Vice & Shayna Baszler has been carried out since Stand & Deliver. In the recent episode, all four were involved in a brawl causing chaos in the black and yellow brand. They will finally settle their feud in a tag team match next week.
