Bobby Lashley is a former two-time world champion in WWE

Bobby Lashley is one of the most powerful and dominant professional wrestlers & a former mixed martial artist. Lashley started his career as an amateur wrestler, however, an injury ended his career in 2004. Lashley stepped his foot into pro wrestling in 2005 and wrestled for WWE.

In 2008, Lashley left WWE to pursue a career in Mixed Martial Arts and eventually wrestled for TNA Wrestling and other independent circuits. Lashley owns a record of 15 wins, and 2 losses and ended his MMA career in 2016.

In 2018, he made his return to WWE and achieved great heights, which he never achieved in the company before, as he became a two-time world champion. Despite a great legacy, a major update on Lashley’s WWE status has been revealed.

Bobby Lashley left WWE

In July 2024, the backstage reports from Fightful Select reported that Bobby Lashley’s WWE contract was nearing to end within August 2024 and there were no contract negotiations with WWE. Ahead of the contract expiry, Lashley was written off from WWE TV and removed from the internal roster, without any creative plans.

At this stage, WWE has officially removed Lashley from the active roster and moved him to the WWE Alumni roster earlier today. Lashley is now a free agent and could sign anywhere anytime in the upcoming events.

What’s next for Bobby Lashley?

Bobby Lashley in a recent interview addressed what’s next for him after his WWE departure, with a surprising announcement saying that he looks to push himself and try out boxing. Lashley already has an opponent set for his first boxing match, back in October 2024.

“I love to be able to push myself to do things that are ridiculous. I set goals for myself every day. What can I do? How far can I push myself? How much can I do? I want to run a marathon. I’m going to try to do that pretty soon.”

“I’ll do jiu-jitsu, I’m going to try and win a world championship in jiu-jitsu. I’m going to do a boxing match. We’ve already talked about this boxing match. I might have an opportunity to do it. I’m boxing somebody in Vegas. There is an opponent.”

Although Lashley is going for his boxing match, the backstage reports reveal that he will still be active in his pro-wrestling career after he departs from WWE. There is also a huge chance that Lashley can go to the rival company AEW. Where do you want Bobby Lashley to step in next? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
