Triple H should not make certain mistakes on the Road to WrestleMania 42.
WWE is moving full steam ahead on the road to WrestleMania this year. The Showcase of the Immortals is set to take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, for a two-night extravaganza with some marquee matches set in stone.
Moreover, there are some intriguing storylines heading into WrestleMania, especially on SmackDown, which could go wrong if WWE CCO Triple H and his creative regime made serious booking errors.
5. Overshadow US title picture

The United States Championship picture has been a prime fixture for SmackDown, with stars like Sami Zayn, Ilja Dragunov, and Carmelo Hayes making significant strides.
The three stars have given opportunities to many WWE stars with captivating open challenges, and Triple H should integrate the title picture as part of the road to WrestleMania 42 plans.
4. Rhea Ripley should not be positioned weak

After winning the 2026 Women’s Elimination Chamber match, Rhea Ripley announced that she would be moving to SmackDown.
She is set to feud with her WrestleMania 42 opponent, Jade Cargill, and is expected to have a major program. However, with Mami returning to singles action, the management should book her strongly instead of being prey to The Storm leading up to their WWE Women’s title match.
3. Stretch Wyatts vs MFTs more

The storyline between The Wyatt Sicks and MFTs has continued on for months on SmackDown. In doing so, the rivalry has seemingly run its course while also depriving other tag teams of major opportunities.
Triple H should put an end to the feud and shift the focus of the tag team division in another direction on the road to WrestleMania 42.
2. Underutilise Trick Williams

Trick Williams has garnered major attention and has always gotten loud reactions ever since he was called up from NXT to SmackDown.
WWE should leverage his growing popularity by positioning him for a top spot at WrestleMania 42, rather than letting it fizzle out.
1. Drew McIntyre losing the WWE title

Drew McIntyre is set to defend his Undisputed WWE title against Cody Rhodes on the upcoming SmackDown.
While reports hint that Rhodes might defeat him and head to WrestleMania 42 to face his former mentor, Randy Orton, it should not happen. Other reports have hinted that McIntyre, as champion, has drawn huge viewership and attendance, and he seemingly deserves the spot as WWE Champion at WrestleMania 42.
Who is the General Manager of WWE SmackDown?
